Is that a water fountain on top of this cooler? What is the cooler worth? A guy near me wants to sell it. He says it all is working.

It is a Westinghouse Standard, but the lid isn't in the same configuration I am used to seeing. Appears to be an ice only cooler, meaning the bottles are stacked in the box and ice is poured on top of the sodas.

I have one I paid $150.00 for and then I had it media blasted and powder coated for another $300.00. I had to buy two lids at $90.00 each ,and the hinges along with the gaskets, another $40.00. (All of these parts are available from the after market.) So I figure I have nearly $700.00 in it, and I haven't had the lids painted nor have I had the lettering done yet. So it is also not finished.

I don't think so. I bet it is something just sitting on top.

Best bet though is to ask the seller. I would love to know if it is a water fountain, and if so, how does it cool the water down.

Yes it is a fountain - I have seen them several times on 40's coolers.

It cools the water by running the water through a very long copper tube that is coiled up. so in that machine since it is an ice cooler the cold ice water cooled the lines and cooled the water. The copper line is special for water line and is plastic coated so it won't corrode and you won't get copper poisoning.

You can't get copper poisoning from the copper pipe. That's what's in most houses built from the 50' to present.
