Title: Westinghouse we-96?
Post by: bubba on February 16, 2006, 07:22:56 am
OK.. apparently, I have an itch to get another machine. I've been looking around on ebay, and there is a Westinghouse WE-96-1 on ebay not to far from me. The machine looks to be in decent shape., but I can't find any info in the machine section. I also did a search in the forums, but nothing turned up. I may have to make a run to see this one.

Ebay id 6253287318

Here's what Walter's book says about the WC-96.
This is a rarely seen westinghouse that looks just like the  WC-42 from the"neck" down. It uses the same coin door and has "ribs" on both sides of the bottle chute. This machine was offered in early and late models. The late model had the "refresh yourself" sign and chrome trim running around the machine. This machine will vend regular or king size bottles. The "96" does not turn up much, So I suspect the the production of this machine was not too large. It's just as well, because its large size does not put it in the high demand market.
Weighs-382#
 Mid 50's-late50's
Rarity 4.5
Average condition 375.00
Fully restored 1250.00
Hope this helps.

This is basicly a taller version of the Westinghouse 42 and neither is very collectable for home use. The bottle stack can be cut down to fit the 42, coin door is the same size but non embossed. This is a real dinosour..........but the coin mech fits the Vendo 81's and 56's and that alone is worth $300.

Thanks for the info. It is only a 1 flavor machine I guess.. So if I can get this machine in the $300 range, its worth parting out atleast. I may have to go look at this machine.
