Title: Liner Instalation - Duck Tape
Post by: Funtronics on May 26, 2009, 06:54:22 am
Hello Guys:
I read how some of you use cardboard to install your liners. That is a good idea and works great, but sometimes it takes two people to do it with the cardboard. I install most my liners using duck tape. I have attached several pictures showing this. The duck tape will not hurt your paint. Once you get your liner put in place you just pull the duct tape out. When you pull the duct tape out it pulls your insulation back in place. It works for me, so I thought maybe someone else would like to try it.

I just want to be clear...you use ONLY duct tape and no cardboard? And how thick is the insulation...it looks very fluffy.

I wonder if the wide blue painters tape would work for this application?  It should hold enough to keep the insulation in place and the adhesive is not as sticky as duct tape.

Thanks Rod! I'll give that a try on the next one.

I did just put my liner back in my 44 this weekend.  I used the cardboard method and it only took a few minutes.  The neat trick I learned this time is that if you save the box Funtronics shipped your new breaker strips in, you'll have cardboard already cut to the perfect length!  :happydrinkers:  :drinking:

That's a good one.  I'll have to tell Janet that our boxes are more valuable than we thought.
