Title: Vendo 110 Freezing Compressor
Post by: genudoc on July 06, 2017, 05:20:17 pm
This is a very famous machine.
This is the 110 that i fought to get back from our friend in NC

Any advice on how to fix this.
I do see some gasket is missing from the door of the machine and will replace and see if that helps

Make sure the evaporator fan is working if it's not working it can't circulate cold air in the compartment ..

Yep, first check the ' evap fan not working, may be  due to crafty Coca Cola polar bears hiding their empties.  :tounge:

Ok , i am sure this is a stupid question but are u
Talking about the fan under the bottle compartment
Or is there a fan elsewhere

I see no fan unless those coke polars stole it

Is it in the unit freezing up ?

Ok, so I have had the same issue with my 110? What I did to get by is wire the fan so it runs all the time, and then I have the compressor on a plug in timer so it will run for 1/2 hour and shut off for 1 hour. The temp stays a nice 40-45 degrees and now I never have to shut it down to defrost.
I do have to empty the tray for the water drain every week, but I am usually filling it with cans anyway?

Good luck

Yes, The evaporators fan is located in the back of the coils ( the block of ice shown in your case  :tounge:  )
It's between the back wall & the coils, it has to have one, or if not then it has been removed for some stupid reason.

I'd suggest defrosting the poor thong & have a look-see.  You'll have to get ambitious & remove the bottom shelf too.

OKaaaaaay..... you do know that the evaporator fan's supposed to run continuously on these old machines regardless right?  So maybe you should fix your wiring problem first before applying too much By-pass engineering to the situation.
