Can you provide a photo...? And do you know how the drum mounts in the cabinet...? I'm leaning toward a Vendo Standard 39 without any additional info...

It is on eBay right now - 4 mounts on the side. I believe it is just what Jim said - V39 Standard.

Vendo 39. 39 filled holes and one that stays empty.
Same issue with the Cavalier 51, 52 spaces on the belt with 51 being used and one remaining empty.
Makes it challenging when getting a description of a machine over the phone and they count out how many bottles it will hold.

Should clarify something here: The drum in question is for the Vendo Standard and not the vertical Vendo 39 (which has only 39 bottle holes).
Vendo put a coin operated top on several Westinghouse coolers. Among them - The Westinghouse Junior became the Vendo Junior (a.k.a. V-123) The Westinghouse Standard became the Vendo Standard (a.k.a. V-139) The Westinghouse Master became the Vendo Master (a.k.a. V-159)

I thought maybe it was for a cooler but wasn't sure. I need a drum for a standard.

Oscar, Are you attempting to convert a Westy/Cav Standard to a Vendo Coin-Op version OR do you have the latter with a few parts missing...? Take a peek at the PDF manual Tom just posted in the Downloads Section and look for the 1939 Vendo Serice and Parts Manual. This may give a better understanding of what may be missing.

I have a Vendo Standard with missing drum. I couldn't get to the download section. It wants me to log in but won't let me.

I'm not planning on bidding. I asked him to sell it to me right after the auction because of my stupidity. I lost track of time and the listing expired. He said he would relist it the next day. Several days past so I emailed him again and told him I would buy it and pay what ever he needed for shipping. He finally emailed back and said he might list it in a day or so. So I thought he really doesn't care if he sells it to me. When I saw the listing today I thought I would just let someone else buy it. Good luck to him. If it doesn't sell I'm going to offer him $25 and see how he likes that.

I have plenty of other machines I can work on until I find another drum. If I don't find another drum I can live without it. He's trying to take advantage of the situation but I have at least 15 other machines I can work on. It's not a big priority.

I like the way you think. I also wait in order to buy at more reasonable prices. And from what I know, the Vendo standard 39 doesn't have much of a following.

You're right not a big demand for standards. I still wouldn't get much out of it with or without the drum. I just don't like the way the guy treated me. I thought I was doing him a favor and the price was right. After all he didn't get a bid and I was willing to pay the asking price.I should have asked about the drum 2 days before the end of the auction instead of the last 2 hours. I can't get too exited about spending in this economy. This is the kind of economy that makes people frugal just like the people that came out of the depression. Right now I'm just buying if the price is right or if I can resell at a good profit. I've past up a few really odd scarce machines that I would have bought last year. I think deals are going to be coming out of the wood work by next year. Economy has not turned and money is really tight. Hold on for the great deals. Just my opinion but I went through this with Jimmy Carter. I see this coming out the same or worse.

Yeah, I know what you mean. You think your working with an honest fair guy and he wants to re-list the item to see if he can start a bidding war.
I hope you're able to get the drum at a good price.
