Saw a very nicely restored V23 Deluxe on a popular auction site about a month ago with a starting price of $999. Got 6 bids, but didn't meet reserve at $1,300. Found out after the auction ended that reserve was $8,500. Even though this a super nice resto with a stainless steel tub and bottle sleeves, has a 23 ever sold for that much?

$8500?? bwahaaahahah..cough..cough..cohahahahahaha
For 8500 you can get a restored Vendo or VMC 81 ,and still have change to buy a few cases of soda.
The guy was a dreamer, an idiot, or trying to recoup wasted money he put into the restoration.

Yea, there's NO chance of a V23 being worth anywhere near that amount, unless gold plated (even then, who would want it?) I could see a REAL NICE one selling for no more than $2000-2500. Just my opinion, but not the most versatile and popular style of machine with the public or collectors. Am I right??

Yeah, just a LITTLE bit high... wow... I have never really found them that neat? there is one by my now for 650,, unrestored obviously... but even restored 2000 I think would be pushing it,, just not practical...

One sold in a garage sale by me last year for $50. It was missing a few parts and I'm not sure it was a deluxe but it was cooling and you could probably find the missing pieces for less than $8,450! Tim

Thanks Guys,
I would like to have a V23, either Deluxe or standard and i'm willing to pay a fair price for a nicely restored one, but $8,500 was way too rich for me.
I'm sure the guy has a bunch of money in the resto and the stainless pieces, but it's still way too high.

I sold one 5 months ago that I had had for about 4 years. My first machine. It was complete, all original, and in good condition. It was the deluxe model. I found it awkward to only dispense the small 8 oz bottles. Not as "showie" as the Vendo 81 I replaced it with and the V81 is more practical as far as using it for a variety of drinks. It sold to a man opening a 50's restaurant in Idaho as a display piece. Sold for $1200.

Hey ss540, found this one on Craigslist Dallas...don't know where in Texas you are. It cools nicely and is complete (the guy just doesn't know how to get the vending part to work right). It's supposed to be in nicer condition than it appears in the ad now that it's been cleaned up. He's asking $549...not bad for a good original Deluxe. I bet cleaned up it would look as nice (or nicer) than one that's been restored. Vendo Deluxe

Just thought I would add a couple of pictures of the one I sold for $1200 for comparison reasons only.

That's a really nice machine. I had one once, years ago, traded it for a large Coke sign.
I wouldn't mind finding another one if it were complete and reasonably priced.
