I have,
Sent  the chorme for a barber chair to be replated.  Generally happy with the work, quick turn around, though it was there slow period, and tthe owner was  bending backwards to get my business.
Pat, i'll PM you  contact information of the the chrome shop who did  the Seeburg, I think it's called Prestiege plating,  outside of Chicago. Did nice work, good price, and has been doing  soda machine parts for years.

I used them about a month ago for a crank handle, coin entry plate and the piece that goes behind the handle. The handle was unbelievable (good), the coin entry plate was just okay. Looked like it only got chrome on the outside and the other piece was good. I would use them again.

So who does the best chrome plating on our machines and at the best price? Also, Do they have a web site and or a phone number? I have some parts that I would like to have rechromed someday. By the way, this is my first post here. Looks like a great place. Glad I found it.

Thanks for the address. I had my picture approved on here but it does not show up. I am talking about the picture by or under our user names. Does this take some time to show up on here? Again, thanks for the information. John in Kentucky

Can't win with chromers.  I just got about 10 pieces back from Ron on Wednesday and eight of the ten were pefect.  The other two censored censored censored

They completely f**king ruined a bezel for a vendo changer.  Completely.  F**king. Ruined.  It's trash.  It was in good shape when it when in but they completly buffed the lines or groves off about half of the right side.  And I swear there's more pits on the left side than when it in. It looks like crap. darn censored darn

They also more less ruined a SD coin bezel.  On the bottom where it should say "Kansas city"  it now says "ansas c".  Nice!

Sorry that happened to you Brian  oh   But you know as I do It is a hard thing to find a good chromer I was using Custom Chome plating out of Ohio They just got way out of this
world on their pricing for chroming And Adam's in Lansing  it took a year to get three piece
of chrome . I guess you have to go with who you trust.

And again Brian real sorry to hear that  about your chrome.

Sorry to hear Brian!
I have started taking pictures of everything I send somewhere and include a printout of the picture with the pieces. When I take coin mech parts to be plated, parts are orgainzed into catagories and counted and then placed in a box with a picture of the grouped parts. This lets the company know that I know (or have record of) what was sent to them!
My plating company lost 3 parts for some LD rejectors once and all I could get from them was "Sorry - we'll see if they show up when we clean the tanks" and nothing showed. These were large pieces too. I don't think there is a lot you can do if it is lost by them.  veryangry

Sorry I was out to dinner with friends  But I was think about your problem Brian,
Did you call Ron,  I really think he is a stand up guy and would want to make thing right
and keep a customer happy then to have someone unhappy with his work.

I mean  if you go in with a cool head and explain whats wrong with those two part
maybe things can be made right, What can it harm  kill him with kindness you know what
I mean.

Thats just my thought and thats what I would do smile.

I don't understand why chrome shops are so inconsistant.  It really worries me to send something expensive to someone I don't know.

I recantly bought a coin changer and was looking for a bezel.  Funtronics had some in stock in both chrome and non plated.
I ended up sending mine off to chrome, but funtronics was really reasonable on their price.

Coincidence or not, about and hour after I posted that I had a problem with the bezel, Ron called and said there were two items that were marked to be redone but got shipped by mistake.  I hope he can fix them and I give him credit for calling and asking for the parts back.

Join the Nashville Plating line up Brian, you are not the first.  I have used Speed & Sport Chrome plating in Houston for 25 years, they do a top job and charge plenty for it but if you have to have something show quality, they are one of just a few that can do it.  They advertise 15 day service, usually takes 25-30, got my latest batch back in 11 days!  Where I get in trouble is trying to save money and send it to these other guys.

Just got my parts back for Nashville Plating and they are beautiful. Ron did a great job. The door I just had them polish but everything else is rechromed. "Great job. You should have seen the parts before I sent them. Look new. See below. They only had the parts for a week and you can not beat the cost. I am a happy man.

Here is another picture of the parts. On the door what you see is the ceiling and coke light. The door looks like chrome but is only polished. The ceiling has the wrinkles not the door. You can see all the lettering on the bottle opener and coin slot just as it was when mailed to him. You can read all and shows up nicely.

With shipping and all I think it was around $215. I had him do the opener and it was $20. But total was around $215.

If you email Ron some pictures with a tape so he can see the size he will get a close price for you. That is what I did and the price he gave me is what he charged me. I just know he did a great job for me at a fair price and quick turn around. I will surely use again with my V-23.

Since this is a good topic, thought would resurect to see what kind of results anyone has had lately on Chrome Plating, or maybe some new places have emerged?

I have had some metal polishing done , and they do an excellent job of dent removal of Vendo 81 trim, and polishing handles and such. I havent' used them for chrome as they quoted me some pretty high prices.

but I've had them polish my Vendo Vend handles and you'd swear they are chrome! THey look awesome...

they are Called: Vintage Vehicles in Wautoma, WI. they have a website at www.vintagevehicles.com, and they restore trim for classic cars..

I'm trying another new chrome place about 2 hours from me next... we'll see..

Hi Guys:
I use Victor at Courtesy Metal Polishing out of Villa Park IL. I have used them for about 3 years now and have a lot of Fun-Tronics parts chromed there. He also will staighten your trim pieces. Out my three years and lots and lots of parts I have only had to send back two pieces to be redone. His number is 630-832-1862.

I have used him once as well, was pretty pleased with the results... sent him  VMC 88 Bezel, and it came back with all the lines and groves still in tact.. not filled in like some others I've heard of... was pretty happy with price and turn around time.. will send some more stuff to him if this other doesn't pan out?
