Tom or some other far more knowledgeable person..... Help..
I'm having problems with my nickle and dime slug rejector out of the U Select...
I've managed to get the five cent coin to run through correctly but I'm having problems with the 10c coin...
It doesn't seem to want to pass through the magnet area where the moveable lever should detract enough for it to go through... Also when the cradle is opened by depressing the reject that lever gets trapped... I think I might be missing a spring or something that hlds it back in place...

The spring that is on top of your magnet is there to return that arm which is
in the "down" position in your picture. Can't tell if the tip of that spring is on the
wrong side of the arm, or broke off.
Tom has a way of adding arrows to your picture, he will explain it better.

Dave,
I got your email as well, but just a thought? is it only a 5 cent rejector? HMMM
Mine is a 10 cent rejector, but will only accept Dimes,, nickels go straight through?
Just a thought? I'll shoot a photo of mine when I have time to take it out.

Think its a nickle and dime mech... The decal on the front states that it accepts two nicles or one dime.... It seems that I may be missing a spring or something just to move the lever backwards and forwards. I can manually get it to accept the coin...

Dave,
I can't quite see the spring, but it appears to be upside down.
See my pics below!
The extension arm of the spring (with the loop) should be under the screw.
The spring coil should be over the post.
The bent arm should be under the dime scavenger blade.
The easiest way to install is to put the bent arm under the scavenger blade, slip the coil over the post and then put the spring extension under the 6-32 screw/#6 brass washer.
You can adjust the dime rail by loosening the two screws (red arrows) and moving it up or down. If the dime is falling through the oblong hole in the main plate, try moving the rail up a little.

Dave,
It looks like your dime magnet screws are reversed!
The one with the washer needs to be on the spring and the one without the washer should be on the left.

Thanks for coming in on this... Now plse treat my reply with the contempt it deserves... I ave followed your instructions but still can't seem to get it to work... I think I may have a piece missing because I can't see how the spring (the thing with the two hoops at the end effects the arm...
I have taken a picture of the mech broken down could you plse cast your expert eye over it and tell me if I am missing something or confirm (for my wife ) the fool that I am...

Unfortunately your spring is broken!
I looked into getting some made, but it was going to be expensive and I had to buy a lot.
The 4900 series (large) rejector uses the same spring and blade and you could rob a spring from that model rejector. The older 200 series (large) rejector uses a similar spring and a similar scavenger blade. Switch them both out if robbing from that model.
I would send you one, but I am in very short supply. In fact, I probably have 2-3 rejectors that are complete except for that spring.

find one. Yes you can leave the arm out, but if a dime gets stuck you will have to get in there and manual scavenge the dime magnet. Depends on how hard it is to get at the rejector when it is in the machine. |

the rejectors are held in by 2 screws, so not too hard to get out...
