I have neither the time nor the inclination to do my own spray work anymore.  But I've got a Cavalier 96 thats ready to be painted, and I don't know where to go.
Do I just go to the local body shops and get estimates?
Ask the local auto paint dealer who he recommends?
Go to a hot rod shop and ask them?
Or does anyone know of a good place in So. Cal (preferably Ventura/San Fernando Valley area) that they recommend?

SDJ, I would check with the paint dealer and explain what you have and then he could tell you the best body shop for your needs.  Ask him for two or three  of the best body shops,
or ask him were he would take his pride and joy.
then call these body shops and ask them if they would do something  like this (some wont  because it is not worth their
time .) then  get a price  .
Then all you have to do is choice the one you like.
