I got a call recently that was pretty weird. A guy called me about restoration and after talking a bit I find he wants me to do an 80's model machine. I told him I was mainly a 50's machine guy and restored the coin mechs for the old RT's, but had not the ability or equipment to redo a whole machine much less an eighties model. I asked him how he got my number and said I was referred to him by the Regional Coca Cola office... ...HUH?.... .... Do you think the CC police have a file of every eBay seller/bidder of their trademarked items? ...and known CC related restoration guys?

Probably a Coca Cola employee that saw some of your old machines and kept your phone number at the plant to share with others. Got my customer's coin mech back from Tom today and we are thrilled. Very quick turnaround and it looks and works better than new. It was frozen / stuck when we sent it to him. Very high reccomendation to anyone else needing this service.

Interesting.... And Glen, I agree.. Tom has helped me on a couple of occasions with mechs. Right now, he is working on my coin changer.

Thanks Glen - I'm glad you and Mark are happy with the mech!
Yeah - my phone number is out there, so not sure how he got it or if I believe the regional office thing - hard to get a real feeling for a person on the phone (ie. whether they are just a BS'r or what).

I get a lot of that also. The Vendo Company gives my name out to quite a few of their customers, including the different branches of the Coca Cola Company. Vendo no longer manufactures the 1/4 hp units or the older 1/3 hp systems. Since I do, I get these kind of calls quite a bit.

Who me? Yeah! They don't like couches being made out of their 7 foot long coolers, they would rather we send them all to the dump
