I read that the Vendo company sometimes incorporated the machine’s construction date into the machine’s serial number.  Does anyone know if that was true for the early Vendo 39’s?  My serial number is FA 4188.  I’m assuming that means it was the 4,188th machine made and does not mean it was built on April 18 and was the 8th machine built. Also, the date April 8, 1949 is stamped in several places inside the case.

Can anyone help me understand what the serial number means?

Thanks

I’m continuing to search through old posts…

Actually, since they started at serial number 1001 now I’m guessing my machine is actually the 3,188th machine produced.

Agree or Disagree?

Thanks

According to this sheet that I have V-39 serial numbers from 1001 - 13703 were from 1949.
