Huh? if  a jumpers between pins 1 & 2 (reference the drawing posted above) then you'll have a short across the line! STOP & DOUBLE CHECK which pins are which FIRST! It's like an car engine, even numbers on one side...Odd numbers on the other, if you look very carefully you should see small numbers next to the female socket slots either on the face (front/top)side or the back/under side you don't want to toast the mech or YOURSELF  '<img'> take you time & go slow & easy when working with a line voltage device.
