So, any clues to what manufacturer made this early wooden chassis model? it appears genuine for the style & construction, really curious

Yeah..220,221 whatever it takes.
Remember, all it needs is a shot of Freon!

Spray painting does NOT restore a compressor

"Hope" is good, but it's not an action plan.

I have seen these in the past also, I had been told and always thought that these were made up by local bottling companies and they usually attached some sort of sign on them. Like Joey I have not seen one that nice before but I have seen several in the past and even owned a couple but I just took the porcelain signs off of them...

No identifying tags or marks underneath...
These early wooden coolers from the 30's, and even the 20's, have been made by just about every company under the sun. Furniture, stoves, and metal worker companies have all produced coolers of this type over the years.
What does the decal on the lid offer...?
Although this may have been changed, is the Starr-X opener an old version...?
Are there any other screw holes near the opener possibly indicating the opener has been changed...?
It looks to be well built too ! ! !
Not much help; just posing more questions...
