I haven't been logged into eBay in two weeks probably, but I still get email alerts to new listings. I haven't noticed any decrease in items listed in my emails. I am afraid that we (collectively) are a drop in the bucket. My use of eBay has dropped off considerably over the past year - I downsized my alerts to 4 or 5 and only sell a few items here and there. The new changes do not appear to have a negative effect for the buyer, so I'll probably buy if a deal pops up.

Hey Joey,The website looks good so far. Did you come up with the logo and design or are you working with somebody?
I know you are not done....
Are you going to be using it solely for selling? If not, you need to put in a statement about buying them also and make sure you use PLENTY of keywords.
I like the slideshow, but instead of a having a bunch of unrestored machines - why not show before and after type pics? I know you may not have all them right now, but it may be something to work towards. This would show people what their machine could look like.
 Just my immediate thoughts.
 Keep us updated!

Hey I see my Transitional 56 in one of those    . Nice site Joey! I hope you have a lot of luck with it. When I had my site going I got a lot of interest. The best thing that you can do is have business cards made up and add your web address on it and pass it around to the antique malls in town. I know you have a bunch of them. I got a ton of calls that way. |

Thanks guys, I have a good friend helping me along the way, On the right hand side of the page will be fully restored machines. With Before and afters. Of course the parts section, also a wanted section and possibly a classified section to benefit all. Its a long ways before being done.
 Joey

What really (REALLY) stumps me about all of this is how ANY seller would go along with this 'no negatives for the buyer' thing. eBay must really have a lot of people under their thumb!    |

What really (REALLY) stumps me about all of this is how ANY seller would go along with this 'no negatives for the buyer' thing. Sadly, I can kind of see this as possibly a good thing.  My only negative came as retaliatory feedback because I left a negative for the seller (I've seen this happen to many people).  Notice how most sellers will not leave feedback until the buyer does?  They do this so they can neg a person who negs them. In other words, they hold their feedback ransom!  I think instead ther should be a safeguard built in so that if one person leaves a negative the other person can not leave a negative. |

Because of sellers using this technique, I don't leave feedback to anyone that doesn't leave me feedback after they have promptly received my payment ! ! !  Their feedback should be based on how my half of the transaction took place; not after I leave legitimate feedback(negative) for slow delivery, not described properly or a host of other reasons, period ! ! ! |

I also think that its total when a seller waits for your feedback! And I have to make a confession     I bought a round top 56  :biggrin:that came up near me during the strike. Please don't be too     at me. rz |

I too seek forgiveness, I bought  replacement chrome pieces for my Seeburg,  it was cheaper  to replace than to  try to repair cracks before rechroming |

If anyone else checks e-bay listings by newly listed items first, you probablyalso noticed a much shorter list through that strike week. This weekend newly listed
 items have doubled.
I am sure there were journalists who were watching and studying the cause and effects of the boycott and hopefully we get a report from them soon.

Here's an interesting read  on the reason behind the Ebay changes http://seekingalpha.com/article/66733-ebay-bares-its-ugly-new-fac The article is geared more toward investors, but  explains what is going on behind the scenes at Ebay. And  though Ebay  denies it,  I've read  from a variety of sources  that Ebay took a 10-13% in auctions thatweek. Start adding up the  additional fees  for pictures, multiple listings, in addition to the initial  fee and it  adds up to a whole lotta red ink.  Edit:  fixed some typos |
