Vendo 83 trim

Hi

On my 1949 Vendo 83 (Manual,not electric) it has a waffle type die cast trim across the frount door area. On newer versions of the same model they replaced the waffle trim with two horizontal chromed (die cast?) trim parts. I prefer the two newer trim pieces to the waffle type I currently have and would like to use that for the restoration. Is there any reason the newer trim would not be interchangable with the old waffle type?
