Wow - those look to be in really NICE original shape!
Start a collection in one swoop!
I wonder what their reserve is?

I've talked with this guy a few times.. his Family had a Bottling plant in ND and they stockpiled alot of nice stuff... he has another whole building filled with signs and displays...and once in a while pulls one or two items out with HIGH reserves and doesnt' sell them. I bet he's got 100k on this as a reserve... 99% sure this will not end with a winning bidder. Would be cool to see in person though. Guy has mislabeled some stuff as well.

I sent him and email asking about reserves and why he is selling them as one lot, Also telling him he probably won't be successful with that , in a "nice way".

he emailed me back with his phone number and I'll call him tomorrow and see what he's up to .

Maybe he'll sort em out.?

Not that I need more machines.. but a 33 would be cool darn

I sent him the same email, and he wants me to call him back too. I was asking about a 33 and the 72... He is about 4 hours from me, but I spent half my childhood in North Dakota about 60 miles from him and I still get there on occasion.  I'll call him today or wed. -  Let me know what you come up with...

I must admit this guy is selling no junk! Every one of those machines are
what we all refer to as "nice originals". Nobody ends up with that many machines
without incurring a lot strays along the way. Go visit him, you never know what
he has that isn't pictured in this auction.

       This Seeburg is certainly different

OK,

I called the seller and left a message, and just got an email back from him. His reserve is $20,000. and he has sale locally for 22k.

23 machines, 22k... someone do the math but it's about $956.52 per machine, obviously someone should go through the list and price the items.. but It doesnt sound that out of wack!??
the 81's at around 2200-2500 (based on some current ebay auctions)
not sure on the 33's?
and the others, Huh??
although I'd love in... I cant' swing it ,,, I just bought 16 machines for the same money( boy did I get screwed  darn Course they where 85% 81's..

I'd take a 33 out of it.

I tried to call him a few times with no luck.  That doesn't sound to bad to me either, but too rich for my blood.  I would like a crack at a 33 and the 72 and I am not too far away.  I hope to get a hold of him and see if he would sell individual machines if he doesn't hit his reserve.

I am not so sure it is a good deal!
For $20,000, I'd want to know more about the machines!
Shelves are missing in some - cap catchers on others - others working condition unknown? - what else?
Sure - you are getting ten or so nice machines, but you are also getting some you would have to give away - a VMC340 - 600 lbs.! - OH MY BACK!!
They would drop that off in my driveway and it would not move or you would find me under the machine with the dolly handle driven through my heart!

Well just have them drop the 340 next to your driveway and you will have an interesting mail box Smiley

I just did the math. Calculated the value as what I would pay for a machine
taking into consideration the handling, re-wiring or missing parts. Also a reasonable
return on investment and time involved. Those squaretops are nice but don't sell
for much, and the sliders are stripped.    My estimation for his 23 machines came
to under $11,000.00 and that is the reason he doesn't want to sell individually.

Using the same formula on John's purchase of 16 machines, totaled over $19,000
not including all the parts he got with the deal. He did well  happydrinkers

I was working on those numbers as well... Glen, I'd like to see your formula, just to compare to the one I used when working on my deal.
Yeah,  I do feel good about my deal I made... I think it'll work out good for me in the long run...

I doubt he'll get his bid to reserve... so maybe he'll wheeel and deal a bit... I'm going to be in touch with him over the weekend,,, i have his number and see what'll he'll do if it doesnt' sell.

I just visited with him, and it sounds like he will sell individual machines if his reserve doesn't get reached - although he wants to sell as one lot.  I was talking to him about the 72 and one of the single door 33's.  As of now, it is a wait and see game on the auction and reserve.

Has anyone talked to this guy after the auction?      He was well short of his reserve, but I can't get a hold of him to see what his plans/or next move is ....

He disclosed his reserve in his description. He is waiting to see if anyone
will buy the whole lot from him after the auction.
If I were him.......I would rather accept the high bid of $13,600 cash in
hand than to mess around trying to sell them individually. People will buy his
81's first then some roundtops. A year from now he will still be looking at a
room full of squaretop machines and slider shells. Shipping cost is going to
dash his hopes of clearing out his collection. But that's his problem...............
hope some people here get some of those nice machines

I agree with Glen, I'm wondering if we remove all the seats to his car if we could stuff 4 machines inside. Maybe haul five if we strap one to the hood like a giant trophy buck. LOL

Hey Signguy...

You're not surely thinking of swiping are ya?? Soda Machine World Domination... Huh?
You'd have more vending machines than Coca Cola if you managed to add this lot to your list..

Good luck if you do go for it..

Ha....
Sure would be fun to have another 20 more, but that would be greedy  biggrin
I might go for a couple if he sells them off in smaller lots or individually... we'll see..

Not enough cash to take them all though......
