We'll Ok, sorry for the late posting but just got back home from a long day.
But went to the garage sale this morning, it was about 30 minutes from the house so left at 6:30, figuring to be there around 7am (an hour early from when the sale was suppose to begin). Got there and as I walked up the driveaway I see this yellow RC Soda machine sitting out front......

 biggrin

just kidding... nothing that exciting....

Anyway it turned out to be a Vendo 110 6 case vertical unit.. early model with the Ice Cold embossed on the bottom... First i only see a tag that says 1950... thinking no way are they asking $1,950 for this beast.... but obviously they where talking about the date... as I get closer I see they are aksing $400 for it.. I don't act too interested but start asking questions, does it run, is it complete , do they have a key and some general info... Yes is runs, missing a couple shelves and key is broken off inside lock but main door opens with screwdriver..
I ask best price ,they say 350.. I counter with 200... i hang around a bit as I'm real early yet and first one there as sale wasn't to start till 8am... I help him move some stuff around to get a better look at it... talk some more talk about price of restorations , missing parts, see some vintage stereo equipment and speakers they are selling and other misc junk

basically ended up walking out and loading it up for $250 with a new stereo for the garage and speakers and the machine...

I figure not bad... it's not a keeper and will put it in my yard sale on Sunday... for $500.
So not a wasted trip.

Jim - maybe we ought to see about getting somebody else in John's neck of the woods. He is really on a roll!

Nice looking 6-case Vertical! I think Fun-Tronics sells repro shelves for $25 each (if you want to pass the phone number along to the new owners)

I have it sitting out front of the house in my "Yard Sale" as we speak with a $750. or BO sticker on it... have had a few inquire on it and where going to measure to see if they had room... I've never put on next to 81 side be side before... wow what a difference in size..

Speaking of value... you really think these are worth 1000?  I can buy a 110 with coin mech/ red /white theme, pretty nice shape for 1000... but I thought that was too high? should I buy that one too?  not sure if I can get more than that out of it around me? Ebay?? would that bring over 1000 on a complete nice orignal 110?

Thoughts.
thanks

Randy Mitchell is getting $4,500.00 out of a restored 110 or 6 case. $1,000.00 may be high on the 110 is it a large door? Think of it this way Large coin door $200.00, Large door coin mech if complete and nice $300-$450.00, Large door coin entry bezel $125.00, shelves $100-150, bottle stack $100-150, I can go on they part out well LOL

I'd hate to part it out as it's really nice... I'll find a photo of it... Just don't have the extra 1k laying around and hold in a machine... but if I knew I had a buyer for it... i'd pick it up as I'm driving near it tomorrow... HMMMMM what to do, what to doo...... darn

Don't get me wrong! We sell for $1000. guys.....we don't pay that!  A guy offered me 2
early 110's and my maximum offer to him was $150. each. My only interest was the coin doors and parts as they both needed paint before being acceptable to the general public.

This self serve needs no paint! The big difference between this and the 110 is that with no bottle stack the diameter of the bottles is no longer of concern.
