Would it be a good idea while I have the machine (81D) in the garge to put some roller casters on it ? Do they make it easier to roll on the carpet ? I figured it would be a good idea while I have it where I can work on it and might make it easier to move around. Thanks!

I'm with you Tony. Only have two machines one on casters the other on levellers.
The casters are far easier to move around.

Yes, put them on!  They work fine on the carpet.  When I took my Cavalier to get painted, the owner of the shop thanked me for having them on it.

Keep in mind that your 81 is 58" tall.   A Vendo 110 is 63" tall.

The only reason the 81 is favored over the 110 is size, so
increasing the height 3" may or may not be what you want to do.

How much do you plan on moving it around?? I agree with GLen that 3" of height makes the machine look "off"... I'd suggest just buying a 2 wheel cart at the local home depot or somewhere and keep it handy for the few times you'd actually need to move the machine.

What I do when restoring a machine is build a dolly with 2X4's with wheels and screw the machine to the cart where the leg leveners are. Once the machine is done I remove the screws and install the leg levelers. see the pic.
