I got a call today regarding a candy machine. The person said it was from the 50's, cream color, has a mirror on it, and 8 pull tabs. I ask for a model but he said that the inside only said Univendor.
Is this a Stoner machine???
Was stoner machines made by Univendor?? Or is this a differant brand??

Sound like you are dealing with Stoner 180! The name "Univendor" refers to all of the various models of candy machines of that era made by Stoner.
What does the person want for it? Is the machine close enough for you to go and look at it?
These are a couple of pic's of my Stoner Jr. with the adevertisement/brand card showing the "Univendor" name.

It's a Stoner 180... here is mine that Joey picked up for me! Thanks Again Joey!!!!! Also got the keys and parts in the mail! Cool books... I keep playing phone and email tag with Curtis.. I want to get a few pieces for mine (new glass, decals, etc.) A $1000 is a little steep for me... is that price firm?
BrianB- What paint did you use on your junior? I'm wanting to go back original with mine... I think I'm going to combo the two Hammer green colors to get close to the original. On they have is too mint/pretty green and the other is too machine age green. So the two mixed would be close.

I would be hauling it home... I got my for $305 and drove 4 hours round trip to get it.... If it wasn't for Joey I'd have drove double that or more. $400 is a steal with it complete and the keys! Good find buddy! '>

Well I got it home. No keys but complete. It even works.
Me and my wife bought our first candy from it.
It works perfect.
And it was only 15minutes from my house.
Thanks Guys

Good job on the Stoner 180!! That's an awesome deal and it looks really nice. Glad I could help.
Eric -
My Stoner Jr. was my very first attempt at a restoration of anything coin-op. That being said, you won't find what I'm going to tell you to awfully funny! '> My Jr. is actually powdercoated! I did some repair work on a soda pop machine for a fella in town that owns/runs a powdercoat shop and we traded work for work. All I had to do is pay for the powder and he shot it and baked it.
I used an un-stripped part to match the green to a powder samle that he had that came really, really close to the original.
You could always try asking Curtis what the paint code for that green is.

Great score on the 180... 400 is a very fair price... I recently got one as well but with the gum vendor for around the same price... Curtis set me up with some parts I needed and is a great resource for these machines. I never thought they would be as heavy as they are though!!! wow... very top heavy due to the all metal vending mechanism... '>

Congrats! I have one too, but I've never seen it. It also has the gum wheel. Paid a little more - close to $575 for mine. I'll be picking it up this spring on my visit to Austin, TX.

I've never seen a base like that on a Stoner, but it looks original. I may have seen the short base before, but never the legs. Curtis would be the one to verify probably.

Here's a Candy Wall Vendor for sal on Ebay at the moment.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws....=1&rd=1
He also has just the front case. Tom (from Jersey) has got himself down for that one. I e-mailed the seller but he can't tell me if the machines vends or is complete. So I'm out..
He laso has a Vendo change giver and a nice little 2 bottle holder that fits onto trolleys that looks quite niffty

Heya Victor, I like it!! Glad to see you picked it up. I've seen a few different bases. My Jr base is an oddball as well. It's actually a little more art deco than the standard one. I think it looks better. I've been working long hours at work (emergency outage) so I'll get you that Tel. # soon.

Thanks Terry,
Yes def more Art Deco, not the standard look but it looks good. The legs welded on it are solid!!
Curtis confimed it was a chopper Stoner. Someone cut the base down for the low rider look, then put legs on it to fix it.
Looks Original if you ask me. Awsome metal work.
CHOPPER STONER, custome and Cool.

We should get the guys from Discover Channel and TLC to show on US... You got shows about Customer Choppers and Cars, How bout Custome Stoners, Pop Machines and Gas pumps. We could film it all out at Terry's shop or Glens Place, Each episode we could tear apart a Vendo 81 or Stoner and restore it into a thing of beauty and then the show would end with us at an auction selling it off for big bucks. WE'de be famous!!! '>
