Did anyone catch this exciting race!! Even though I'm a diehard Jimmie Johnson fan I was happy to see kevin win it. I used to go to the local 1/2 mile track and watch kevin race there. He was 17 and still in high school when he won the mesa marin track championship in 97. So now Bakersfield is home to a Daytona trophy as well as 4 Indy 500 trophies (Rick Mears). '<img'>

My six year old son made sure it was on.  I wasn't watching and he came in really pi**ed, telling me "Tony Stewart wrecked. Kurt Busch took him out". Or something like that.  He is really into NASCAR.

OH yeah that was a good Daytona 500 , I too was disapointed about Tony getting knocked out.
Those last laps Martin  and Harvick  boy that was a drag race right down to the line.  And how about
Clint  Bowyer comming across the finish line on his
 roof.   What A Race.

I was really hoping Mark Martin would win.  To me, he's a throw-back to the "old school" NASCAR.  He seemed to have the car dialed in pretty good, but just couldn't get a good line on the last restart.

I used to be a NASCAR freak a while ago (for me that was from the mid-70s until Dale died), but I just feel like NASCAR has changed so much.  The people who used to call me a redneck for watching it are now the ones with their favorite driver's flags on their cars.
