Hi Gang
Got my latest vending machine through the post yesterday. That's my fourth since Christmas. One more still to come and then that's it.
This one is a US Advance Condom Machine. It has a vending magazine that is split into two columns. Two very small columns. I think that it is more or less complete. Has a outer lock which I have removed and put on my other Advance Machine but unfortunately the cash box had been barrelled in its previous life. There appears to be one weight missing too.
This machine is also smaller that my original one. Its narrower and not so long in the body. What I can't work out was how it vended. Its working okay, I think. When you insert a 25c piece and turn the knob it looks like it would have shot two boxes out. Would that be right. Two boxes for 25c. Help me out here guys. I only ever went to the chemist for my needs.
Does anyone know any decent websites for this sort of machine. Have done google etc without success.
Cheers
Dave

I have been looking for information, parts for these machines for a while (see my lucky strike post). Not much out there, but the machines are very common (?).

You're alright Bob... With two young kids wer don't have much cause for "the oldies."
Cormy - I saw your post. I know Crowriver stock the locks. $30.00 but that's all I have been able to find.
You are right about them being common. But I was unaware that they came in differing sizes.

Hi Glen
No its not. Its about an inch less wide and about two inches shorter than the Hershey one. On the Hersehy one the back plate protrudes and on the condom one the front cover fits over the plate.
Think I might just turn the condom one into another candy machine. The wife is giving me the evil eye and the six year old wants to know what its all about.

Terry
could you plse post a picture of your Wrigleys machine. I am thinking about converting mine as I am getting a bit of stick from her indoors.
The internal mech for my condom machine has two very narrow columns. Must have pushed out two small boxes in one go.

Dave, here's a photo of my Wrigley's gum vendor. It vends small gums for a penny and the turn knob is made of heavy wire. The ad area says "Treat yourself" and shows a pack of wrigley's gum.

It's kinda plain looking right now. When I get around to restoring it I'll change the color and graphics.

Dave, Here's the other one I have that has the round turn knob like yours. I am looking for another to restore as a condom machine. I already have graphic in mind for it.

Hi Terry
37c that seems a strange vending fee.
Whatsort of graphics do you have in mind. I am looking desperately for inspiration.

I bought this machine at a antique show. It was built as a novelty. It says "rasberry douche". Kinda crude but at 20 bucks the price was right. My condom machine will have graphics of "Spanish fly" a worm with a mexican sombero and belted guns and lettering that say's "Keep Pe'Pe' holstered". Just a saying when we were teens.

An Irishman was having coffee and croissants with butter and jam in a cafe when an English tourist, chewing gum, sat down next to him. The Irishman politely ignored the Englishman, who, nevertheless, started up a conversation.
The Englishman snapped his gum and asked, "Do you Irish people eat the whole bread?"
The Irishman frowned, annoyed with being bothered during his breakfast, and replied, "Of course." The Englishman blew a huge bubble. "We don't. In England, we only eat what's inside. We collect the crusts in a container, recycle them, transform them into croissants and sell them to Ireland." The Englishman had a smirk on his face. The Irishman listened in silence.
The Englishman persisted. "Do you eat jam with the bread?" Sighing, the Irishman replied, "Of course." Cracking his gum between his teeth, the Englishman said, "We don't. In England, we eat fresh fruit for breakfast, then we put all the peels, seeds, and leftovers in containers, recycle them, transform them into jam and sell it to Ireland.
"The Irishman then asked, "Do you have sex in England?" The Englishman smiled and said, "Why of course we do."The Irishman leaned closer to him and asked, "And what do you do with the condoms once you've used them?" "We throw them away, of course," replied the Englishman. Now it was the Irishman's turn to smile. "We don't. In Ireland, we put them in a container, recycle them, melt them down into chewing gum and sell them to England. Why do you think it's called 'Wrigley's'?"
