I read through the archives about wiring a free vend switch into the Jones socket. I used a piece of wire to jump from socket 1 to 3 and sure enough it worked! Now the question is, when I wire a switch into these two sockets does the rest of the Jones plug stay disconnected? Will the connections on the Jones plug sock numbers 2,4,5,6,7 and 8 no longer be needed?

Yes, you can disconnect the coinmech altogether if you wish, but depending on what machine you have ( you didn't say) things like the sold out lamps & the correct change only light may not work.

Hello

You can free vend without a switch.

Here is what I do. I remove the cover metal cover at the bottom of the bottle stack. You will see the vend solenoid & in front of V S you will see a silver bar that rotates forward when the V S is activated. I just use a zip tie to hold that silver bar in the foward position.

Now there is something to making the madchine work so y9u hear the V S noise prior to pulling you drink of choice.
