Looks like a nice complete machine!
Nice purchase! I wonder what happened to the Coca-Cola (or other brand) sign that was mounted to the front...
I personally like original paint schemes; I like all blue with white lettering.

Funny thing about the wife is we were expecting a baby on Jan 25th.  She had the baby on Friday 12/22.  He is healthy and pefrect, but if she had not had him before I bought the machine she would have for sure gone into labor after I told her about it.

Great score Marvin. I don't know if you tried this or not,
but show your wife Jeff Walters book. It lists your machine in average condition at $2800.00, and restored at $5800 This is not an expenditure.........it is an investment!  How much will it be
worth when your new son is ready for college?

On another note.  I see several members have chosen to
start their topic as find of the week. Well as we all know, the
"find" is the most exiting part of this hobby. I enjoy reading these
the most.
If we had a section titled find of the week, before long
newcommers to this site could read back on all these great
stories.  What a rush !!!!

Congrats, Marvin! I did mine two-tone and it looks sharp, but it's up to you. It will look great either way!

Marvin,
Congrat's on the baby boy and the Pepsi 81. I was watching this up until the end. (I was at work). I didn't bid because I figured it was going to sell for 2800+ and I'm still waiting for a deal like you got. Way to go, you stole that machine. This machine's on my wish list!

Thanks again guys.
Moondawg, I have shown her the book so many time about different machines that she probably knows it better than I do.  She understands why I buy / sell stuff, but with the new baby and her not wanting to return to work in 6 weeks she gets stressed.  So I told her I have to buy more stuff to sell!!

When I first got into this hobby, I asked the wife If I could "borrow" $1000 out of our savings to buy a "Couple of Coke Machines" she almost had a cow. We'll I bought two machines with that and little cash stash I had and later sold one of them for 1800... put the Money back and had some cash to start with. From then on, I have not used ANY of our Household money to buy my "Stuff"... if you can swing it I'd try that.. .and then of course once in a while buy her or the kids or house something nice and your' pretty good to go..That was over 10 years ago and it's been great.. Just an idea.... and of course you have to be able to buy and sell well to build up some cash reserves. I'm sure glad I got into this rather than some other Non Cash Producing hobby!!!! '<img'>
