I got this a few years ago and had to strip the paint from the previous "restoration" attempt. Did some minor body work and had my resident sign painter do the rest.

Wow. That looks great! Whoever painted that does an outstanding job!

Hey!  I used to have an Aztec pinball.   '<img'>

Very nice job!
I kind of like the red trim on the Coke base.

Got this through an ad I placed in a little local paper after just moving into my new house. The guy only lived about a mile away but I needed directions! His son was going to restore it but lost interest. '<img'>

His hand does appear to be 3-D in the picture! Weird.

I think I gave him a picture but mostly he filled in the areas of missing paint and used his imagination for the rest. The rear part has a vinyl red disc and white vinyl lettering. wasn't able to recreate the reflective circle around the red disc which was on it originally.

Talking of policemen I came across this on Ebay UK.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/COCACOL....iewItem

It was listed just before Xmas with no picture and a one line write up. No bids. Has made a return with a fuzzy picture. I take it they are very collectible??

Cormy - Yours looks fantastic.

Cormy, Nice looking restoration, your Sign painter is awesome.
Dave, yes these originals are very collectable, often found with dings, dents, bulletholes, rust, you name it. Typcially nice originals bring aroudn 1500 with base in good condition. BUT BEWARE>> Reproductions of this do exist and are tpically sold with a solid white back and no base. I think the repros sold for around 750 originally out of California.
There are also two versions, of the Coke Cop, one has the round logo on the back and the later version has the Arcform (Fishtail) logo and says "Resume Speed", as these where used in crossing lanes near schools in the 50's.
