I think this was brought up a while back
but if you go to
www.oldgas.com

-then Shop talk

-then Petroliana News

about the fourth topic called - New oldgas calendar image
it is a printable page for the month with a gas pump/
or petro image....
We could do that of Soda stuff weither it's a machine
just found in the wild , a restored dispenser
or a whole soda room.... would be fun.....

Eric,

I'm always in favor of improving the functionality at SMC; however, if I understand this feature, you would like to implement a photo submission for each month and then come out with a printable version of the monthly calendar with the winning photo in the calendar...

I like the idea of having a Machine of the month type thing....don't know if this is already done here....but it tends to get people to work a little harder at finding rare machine and getting them cleaned up atleast enough to photo

Terry,

I didn't know you owned a Decapper!
I would like to use a couple of photos in the Soda Machines Section with your permission...

Funny you shoould mention Starr X...
I just learned that Starr X had their headquarters in New Kent, VA which is a rocks through from my brothers house in Quinton, VA. Next time I visit the area, I'm going to do a little digging to see where the old place used to be...

Oh yea, about the Decapper, I was hoping to get some good photos of an original... So much for that...

EDIT:
Starr-X was located in Newport News, VA in the early years; not in New Kent, VA

Quinton VA?  I don't see it.  Will have to mapquest it.

Oh, New Kent and Quinton.  Found them...near Richmond.

Speaking of Star X I picked this up last week. Thought it was cool as it was in the original box.

Jim you're talking all this fancy computer talk... BUt Just want you to know in January.... I'm taking a College class for Web design.... When I got my degree Yeeeaaarrrs ago there where only 3 little Macs that they had in a make
shift room (cloest). So I need to step up and get caught up with the times....
I'm wanting to revamp my soda signs site myself......
Anyway....
If you check out that site and look what they have... If it's something we could do
I could design the layout for each month and we could flavor of the month or
colage of different signs and machines together.... Or one found in the wild...
We could also make a area for screen savers......
I will help in any way I can.

Yeah Jim, I remember that you were visiting relatives and then DC, but for some reason was thinking they were further south.
