Some of you know that I found myself addicted to Gas Pumps also.. the way I look at it is it's another form of Round Top... anyway I was on the Old Gas site and they have a topic area for transporting stuff from state to state. basically just a place that people can post if their traveling and if they have room to haul stuff for people? I thought it was pretty cool and I'm sure most of us here would help each other out out of the goodness of the hobby or for a small fee?  Jim? just a thought?

That's sounds like a good ideal. I know I have talked with several members here that have offered to pick up and assist with shipping of machines. I plan on attending Chicagoland next year and I may need assistance on shipping on any purchases. Just a thought

I like the idea if everyone feels it will benefit our members...
I'm also looking at all the various categories we have and still need to keep things simple... From a newbie's perspective, it could be confusing...

If the concensus is to create a new Discussion Area, let me know, suggest a few titles and I suppose the best place may be in the Vending Rack Area...

If you are going to add this section, I would suggest also merging the two auction categories together.

I didn't wait to hear from a few others, but the new forum is up!

I merged the "Other Auctions" topics into "Auction Items"; good suggestion Brent! Thanks!
I'll also begin pruning the "Auction Items" so only the most current two years worth of topics are available. This will keep things tidy too.

Any other suggestions while I'm on the move...

I think that is a great idea, it brings this family a little closer together.

What do you think about making the SMC frappr map a sticky of the Transportation section?

I think it is a great idea as well. I'm always traveling from my home in VA to my brothers in TN and my parents in LA. I would not mind transporting a machine for a fellow SMC member.

Gumbo, I didn't know you lived in VA.  So do I... what part of the state?

Brent,

Excellent suggestion!
Can you post that? I'm hittin' the sack...
Also, I noticed the frapper map ID bubbles are cut-off for those members located in the north... Is there a way to make these visible...?

Yea Coolcat where are you? As Dan said I'm in Warrenton, VA. Looks like VA is moving up the rankings of SMC members per state. What state does have the most members? That makes 3 for VA.

Jim--to make the members in the north visible on the map, you click on the map itself and drag it down or where ever you want.

I'm in the Hampton Roads (Norfolk/Va Beach/Chesapeake) Area -- Chesapeake, actually.  I grew up outside of Cleveland, OH though.

You should put your pin on the map the frappr map. Go back a few post and you can click on the link. Great to know we have another VA member. Dan and I thought we were the only ones in VA.
