Just thought I'd flash a quick picture(s) of a cute little 7up LaCrosse lightup & Pepsi Lacrosse lightup I picked up locally, once I go over them I'll be putting it on auction on ebay,

if you've never owned (or helped move) a LaCrosse the first thing you'll notice is that they are solid machines, ie: Heavy!
they didn't skimp on the galvanized sheetmetal, this one weighs about 325lbs it's a LLC 80 model, one of the smallest uprights they made. it's got all of it's shelves ( which is a good thing because finding extra/replacement shelves is a bit of a chore)  

these machines were built to be serviced, even the compressor deck has flare fitting & service ports for checking/charging the freon, nice! the compressors are fairly universal between same size models & thanks to the above mentioned service valves, so swaping one out is pretty straight forward ( but they are shoe-horned into the lower chassis kinda tightly, you really have to watch the copper lines or it's kink-city) this one (7up) is a bottle machine but the second picture (Pepsi) is a harder to find can vendor model LLC 90-9 ( note the superb spray can custom paint job on the coin door ) I'm paint it back to it's correct color & you have to luv the 3D pepsi sign! both are complete & running, The Pepsi had to have a compressor transplant & rewire, but she's a chill'n now! (the bottle door is masked off for paint)

What's the asking price on the 7UP ? Just curious coz it's a neat looking little machine.. (unfortunately not looking to buy)

Of course my eyes are immediately drawn to the WC-60 Select-O-Matic  .  Man, those are the coolest machines on the planet.

Would it bug you if I told you that I have three of them in my garage right now?      ....good!  don't let it's "cute" little size fool you, that WC60MD you see in the background is actualy a little 400lb monster...here's some follow up pictures of the LC90 after a little touchup work to correct its "custom" paint job...

here are  some close-ups of the vending rack with the can selection levers, the levers clip onto the axle that would normally hold the nylon rollers for vending bottles, also note the horizontal blocker bar (it holds back the next can in line to vend until the first can is vended & the selection lever is released into the "ready" position. now,  when a customer pulls on the vending lever, it's coupled to the rear eject "kicker" this pushes the can forward & pops it out for the customer to grab, until the customer does grab the can to remove it from the rack, the can itself holds the eject lever in the upright postion, which tips the blocker-bar to pre-load the next can in line, ionce the vended can is removed the vending lever is pulled back by a spring & it locks out any other selections (just like on any statndard bottle rack of this type) & the next can that was pre-loaded is allowed to roll forward into the vending bay.

I was playing around and discovered that you can remove the vending lever & kicker assembly and replace it with a standard nylon gate roller and the  blocker-bar with one a bottle machine ( they are a little different in hanging "height") and Voila! it will vend both cans & bottles in the same machine! now this opens up a world of vending diversity indeed! this could put a whole new light on the LaCrosse models.


you might ask why then this type of  can machine won't vend bottles in the first place, well if you look at the vending lever on a can machine, you'll see that the levers curved portion will block the neck of glass bottles & longer tall cans like "Red Bull" (10-oz cokes seem to fit though, they're short enough to clear the lever.
