Chaps

Just bought a cion op pillow radio from a seller on ebay. He uses the ID cocacolanut and has sent me some pictures of his SMALL collection that I thought I'd share with you.

Both him and his wife have been collecting for over 30 yrs.

He tells me he has managed to acquire over the years 30 Barbers Poles, 30 Jukes and 22 Soda Machines. A couple of those machines in the pictures I have never seen anywhere else.

Just imagine what you could have if you had a wife like his....
A real nice bloke I'm definately going to keep an eye on his auctions.

Wow, thanks for the pics.  Almost every square inch (or cm for some of you) of their place is filled!  '<img'>

Do they do all of their own restorations?

That's a nice collection. I have a buddy that reproduces  the animated "big band sets" that is hanging on the wall. '<img'>

Nice collection Dave - I think I have looked at a couple of the items he has had up for sale.
Most of the machines, I recognize...let's see a VMC 27, Westinghouse 44, Vendo 56, Westinghouse BV-56, Cavalier 72, Cavalier 33, Westinghouse Junior, Scottsman, Vendo 39, Cavalier Office cooler???. I do not recognize that Diet Coke machine with the light fixture on top - that looks like it is about 40 inches tall and has 4-5 selections.
Pretty cool, but personally a little too much for my taste.

Brent

Don't know if he does his own work or not. But if you just look around at what he has it must be worth thousands. He has a Vendo Coin Changer sitting on the wall that most of us would have as pride of place but there if you blink you miss it. Lots of lovely clocks too.

I e-mailed him and asked him permission to show the photos and said to drop by. I'll e-mail him again and ask him about the restoration work. All that stuff looks top class. His pillow radio he sold me is MINT.

The best part of the group for me is hearing how you guys come by your stuff or how you start out in the business. Glen's story the other day. That sort of thing.

I guess 30 yrs ago a lot of the stuff was just being thrown away or was being sold for pennies.

I think I would go crazy living in that house. TOO MUCH. Everythings a blur and melts together, you get tired looking at it. Just my opinion. Some nice pieces however.

I would think I died and went to Coke Heaven. Did anyone notice that none of his clocks matched up?

Hello Everyone.

Spoke to the owner of these goodies again yesterday. He informed me that he did all his own restoration except the electrical parts.

The Robot. It was from Coca Cola. Apparently there were orginally three. One went to an employee another was broken up and the third became his after years of badgering.

Hopefully he'll stop by and fill us in a bit more.

Dave
