Yeah!! I know this does not look that great, But it was saved ,(plus Free)This was in a room that was boarded up and plastered over. The New owner of the building were cleaning it up and just tossed it in the dumpster. In a year or two you will never know how bad it was. Pat '>

Free! That's great, especially for free. Kind of surprising it still has the lids. How did you come across it? Were you the one that actually pulled it from the dumpster?

The info on the 700 says they did not have metal inserts like the Glascocks. So are signs painted on the side?

That's cool to have friends like that! With more friends like this, you could just stay home and wait for deliveries...
Unusual cooler! I don't think it's S&S or Quikold for that matter. I'm sure you've looked for any sign of an ID tag...?
I was looking at literature for 2 models I'll be listing soon from J. Moss Company; they manufactured two models in what appears to be the late 30's... With this said, it could be some obscure manufacturer/model...
Very nice find none the less!

Nice find Pat! That's one peice that I'm actively looking for right now. I want to use one for my Vendo Coin Changer. I've also got my eye on a mounting plate for it on Ebay right now.
Do those plates really weigh around 50 pounds? If so, shipping is gonna kill me! '>

They weigh a ton! sandblast that thing and paint 'er up, get a pipe threaded for it and sit back and wait for a coin changer or even a set of drive in speakers! Can't beat free on something cool like that!

I always stop and peek in dumpsters especially if they are in front of old buildings. It can be exciting taking that first peek over the top. I often call myself a "dumpster diver" since I will jump right in if I see something decent (or non decent) in some cases, I just can't seem to allow something to get thrown away, never to be seen again, if it has some age and is some what collectible to me. Luckly I haven't been caught, although they are throwing it out. Saved some old tire signs and other old stuff from an tire shop/gas station being gutted, contacted the owner (executor) and she said they were getting money for the "scrap value" of the material, I tried to get her permission to go through the dumpsters every now & then but she seemed to think all the old equipment is better scraped and really didn't say I could. I still stop by when no one is present--can help myself, seems like such a waste. I did give her my number and asked her not to throw out signs and such. I have to watch it since the owner has just passed away, and its an emotional time, might over do it. Am I wrong??

Too bad the Police signs weren't in tact... they are worth a pretty penny, or a soda machine or two if in good shape... Obviously all shot up not much however. HMMM city officials shooting at Cops??? and we wonder why the world is the way it is???
