This have surfaced on Ebay..
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws....ck=true
I think that its a V-80. That would be the automatic vending. Are these models desirable??
How easy are parts to come by. It looks as if it needs complete restoration.
What questions should Ib e asking the seller??
What is a reasonable price to pay for this model (I know there is going to be a big difference between US & UK but what would you guys pay)
The seller also has another vendo but wth a starting bid of £750 I think I might give that a miss.
Cheers
Dave

Right, I can see where the handle is now. I've just looked at the section on the site here for the 56. Will it. like the 81 vend different types of bottles or are we only talking about the smaller bottles.
Thanks
Dave

Okay chaps
Have spoken to the seller of the V-56. He says I can have it for £450.00 which works out (with your weak Dollar as it is) about $900. However, it is missing its crank handle and the rod that connects to it.
What do you think??? Is it still a bargain. There seems to be a fair amount of work to it. But I was hoping that I might get reduced rates on bodywrk and painting if I presented two machines to be done.
I know that I can get the handle repro from the Steves's how about the rod??
As always your kind words gratefully appreicated.
Dave

Buy it! That is a deal! It wouldn't last “over here” at that price..... Man!!!!! now everything is poping up “over there”..... Gas pump, Dole dispenser, candy machines, Jacobs, You need to tell your wife how lucky she is that you're finding all this stuff! I'm sure that will help '> I think, without seeing the machine, that a RT 56 just missing just the handle and rod, at $900 is a deal!

Right, got it... Pick it up in the morning. Won't be able to sleep tonight. Its about two hours from me so will be up at the crack of dawn.
Who'd have believed it. There I was moaning about nothing coming my way and within a few months a Jaocbs a Dole Dispenser and now a V-56.
My wife is not talking to me at the moment. I have just sold one of my V-39's though so she can 't complain too much.
Thanks for all the adivce and egging on. I'll get those pictures posted ASAP.
Steve - Haven't forgoten about the Dispenser pick it up at the end of the month.

After a six hour drive I've finally arrived home with my new addition. The chap I bought the machine from had lots and lots of lovely bits and pieces. I really wish I'd taken my camera with me. He is mainly a jukebox dealer and had some excellent examples. I saw my first AMI A as well as an Arieon. Some really buets of 78 players. He had a couple of Jacobs, a Vendo 23 and a few other bits and pieces of coca cola. His signs were out of this world. Mostly British. He gave me the tour and was worth the three hour drive just for that.
Right Have taken a few piccies. This baby has been sitting in his barn for at least ten years and before that God knows where it was. It is going to need some serious make over. Lots of rust on the outside but inside apart from the compressor dept appears very clean.
I have only had very quick look at it as the kids are playing up and the wife has had enough. However, I can't seem to work out how the crank handle and rod affect the selection. I think that I must be missing parts in that dept. If one of you kind soles could provide me with a picture of what should be there I'd be grateful.
Won't let me post pictures. Will try later

Looks good. Like you said, some surface rust but no holes. I think you did well. Are you going to try to restore/paint it yourself, or do you think you'll take it somewhere?

Dave, execllent machine. I have restored much worse. The rod you are missing connects the back of your coin mech. to a linkage right below your bottle door. Look inside your main door, you will the see the indentation where it goes

Great machine...I have a 56 totally taken apart if you need pics of anything. Regarding the coin mech...looks like you just need to attach a handle to it on the front side. Not sure if the bottle rack has the cam on the bottom. Best.

Dr - Would like to THINK I'd do it myself but in reality I think that I will get someone to do the hard work.
Glenn & Vendobaldtops - Have enclosed a couple of pictures about the vending mech. I can see where the rod goes but can't work out how it affects the vending. Must be some bits missing. What stops the buyer grabing as many bottles as he wants?? At the bottom of my bottle covering there isn't anything.
Will have to sort myself out a manual ASAP.

I think I have a spare rod for the door liner. If you aren't in a hurry when I am back in the states I will look for it. If I do have one you can have it.

Dave, Indeed, it looks like you are missing the cam cylinder under the bottle rack. Funtronics sells it for 40 USD, I believe. If you get a handle, the back rod for the door liner, and the cam, I think you should be in good shape assuming the coin mech works and is not rusted shut.
If the coin mech works, you will crank the handle, it will turn the coin mech rod, the door liner rod will turn and move that t-bar (at the bottom of the bottle door inside liner, the t-rodwill then fit into the cam under the bottle rack and vend.
When it vends, it will only allow you to grab a drink from one of the seven slots; the rest will lock up. And again, each slot / shelf you can fill with different soda, beer, coolers, etc.
