I usually find my bid was 2 seconds too late.  
       This is a good reason to use a bid snipe service on such an important item.   I use E-snipe to enter a bid for me 6 seconds before the end of the auction, then I sit back and watch.   Their fee is very reasonable and their service very reliable.
