I'll try to take some pics.  I won't be able to buy much since I spent all my money on a Centipede game. '<img'>

Not going this time either. I'm planning on going to the November show. Not enough cash this time and I have Navy Reserve stuff this weekend so it made the decision even easier!

I was planning on going as I have for the last few years with a buddy who sets up a booth.
Plans just changed and I won't be making the trip.... But November sounds good... I like the idea of setting up a time to meet since I haven't met anyone in person yet, and only talked to Markito on the phone...

Eric -

That sounds like an awesome idea. The last time (my first time!) Myself and Mcarter showed up on late Wednesday to do some stuff in Chicago and then caught the last hour of the Kane County Show. On Thursday we spent a better part of the morning at the Kane County Show and then went to Home Arcade Corp in Lisle. Friday morning we were up bright and early (5 am) and were over to the Pheasant Run Parking lot.

So, I think setting a pre-determined time/place is a great idea. Maybe if a bunch or all of us make it up/down there on Thursday, we could all get together for dinner and then on Friday we can meet up someplace at the show to swap stories or share any neat stuff we've bought or come across.

Were you the guys that bought the Pepsi Heinz cooler?.... We probably walked past each other all morning long..... I think we even took some of the same pictures I did in the gallery...
Sounds good to me... We could even help each other load up all the great scores we find on the lot!
ok... now I'm dreaming! a Pepsi 88 for $950!!!! Nesbitt's Slider for $450!!!!!... Hope that happens again this time around I'll be ready then.....

At home! I live about 1 1/2 to 2 hours away.

Looks like it's Nov. 10, 11 & 12.  I hope I can make the November one (I'll have a big reunion some weekend in November '06)

Party is at Brents house then :-) Kidding aside it doesn't cost that much to grab a suite at a motel. Just need to know what motel works best for all and then we would have strike base to work from. Over the years I've spent days at the O'Hare airport but know nothing of the Chicago area.
Thanks,

If you book early enough... rooms at the pheasant inn are only about 79 a night... and I agree.. if you go get there Thursday (Wednesday if you want to check out the Kane show) but the place to be is in the lot at 5am Friday Morning!  It's well worth it...
here is a picture the booth I had down there two years back with a buddy of mine.

Eric - Yep! We probably did pass by each other a few times! My friend Harrison was the one that got (stole!)that Pepsi Heintz cooler.

This year we'll make sure that won't happen. We have enough lead time to set this whole shindig up right to where we could have a ton of SMC members.

Man what a awesome cooler... I walked past that a dozen times and didn't even ask
about a price... just figured it would be too high! Never again! What was I thinking (Obviously I wasn't)
Just wasn't meant to be and it got a good home... Has he done anything with it yet?
Would love to see that one restored.
Yep!... Let's all that are gonna go in November pick a time and place and meet up!
So start saving now (unless of course a killer machine pops up that you can't live without '<img'> )

Nice Trashcan juke behind that cooler.
Kinda looks like the Beverly Hillbillies' truck, but with really cool stuff in it!

It was like the Beverly Hillbillies! The best part came about two hours after that picture was taken. I was driving behind Harrison & Matt making sure that the load wasn't shifting to terribly or that nothing was coming loose. I started noticing that the blue shipping blanket in the picture was flapping in the wind and looked like it come loose.

I called Matt on his cell to let him know this but to no avail. The phone was busy! When I finally did get a hold of him he got another call and hung up on me!  ''  Seems he was involved in some pretty important calls and didn't have time for ole' Brian.....Well I dropped back about 100 yards just in time to see the blanket come flying off headed towards me!!!
All I could picture was this blanket either ending up covering the windshield or going underneath my car and getting caught up in something important.

Luckily I have cat-like reflexes and I corrected course to avoid the rogue blanket just in the nick of time.
 ''
Really I just got super-duper lucky that it flattened out so I could drive over it pseusdo-safely!! All in all it was a great trip. I learned a lot about hostile bargaining (not me, them!)and being to slow on the pulling trigger.

I missed out on a killer deal on a near perfect Seeburg Teardrop Speaker. I made an offer and turned around for about 3 seconds to ask Matt what he thought and within that small amount of time the speaker was gone!!

Quick on the trigger is key... and Cash in Hand (visible) helps... some of those guys are looking to unload early and get back on the road by Noon I found out as I missed out on a few deals like that too with a V56-RT last year

Welp, as it stands, I guess I made a good choice not going this year. Here in Southern Indiana we got lit up with about 4 hours of heavy rain starting at about 4am. I can just imagine what it was like at 5am at the show!

We lucked out up here.  We got a light drizzle here in NW Indiana, and it looks like they only got a tenth of an inch overnight at St. Charles: NWS data

Just got back from the show.  I took some pictures and I'll upload them later this weekend.
Pretty decent show.  There seemed to be a lot more soda machines, arcade games and jukeboxes than usual and not as many parts dealers.  Prices were a little high, even for the project machines.  Nothing really stood out for me.  All I got was some soda (5 cases) and a few 45's.  My friend got a Pepsi menu board (and some soda).  Overall, a pretty good day (even with the Chicago construction traffic!).

It was pretty good.  Not as busy as it was in November.  I didn't get there until noon, so people were already starting to leave.

Yea, it's a neon sign in there.  I don't think it looked that hot (maybe in a dimly lit gameroom it may look okay - especially after a few ':p' !).
