Hi Everyone,

I was so psyched that my buddy Victor scored that 81B last week that I went ahead and made some banners and posted them on some public bulletin boards around town and where I work in Marin County.

5 days later...Score!  I just got a Jacobs 160...that's what is says on the plate but I am guessing it is the same size as of Jake 26.  One question, how do you take off the coin door?  This is my first Jacobs and it is highly different than the Vendo doors. Do I actually need to unscrew the crank and take if off?

There are some minor dings and scrapes but the originbal paint is deep red.  I just unloaded it and haven't even cleaned it yet.  Any idea of worth..I am thinking it is complete (refrigeration cord was cut off so I can't test that).  I got this for $350!

Man that's a KEEPER! Way to go! Josh had one a few months back and sold it he could give you a better idea what they're bringing! So unique in looks and design I would keep it!
Would love to find/own one someday... on the list!
Again way to go! That's what you want to find! And it came to you cause you
took the time to get the word out! Hope you find 20 more!

Great score!!!!!! Mine was in pretty bad shape and had a huge dent on the back but it was rust free and cooled and I sold it for $650. You do have to take the handle off to get the coin door off. There is a plug at the end of the vend handle. It has two holes in it. This is how it is removed. You can buy a tool called a spanner tool from funtronics or I think you can find a way to get it off. I don't remember but I think there is also a screw or two under the cap catcher. Good luck and great find.

Thanks for the info, Josh.  I went and figured out that the original keys that the guy gave me also have that the spanner screw wrench attached...cool!  I will mess around with it later and see what happens.

Also, I noticed that on the inside of my machine, there is no guard that goes across the middle in front of the drum.  I have seen it on Josh's machine and a few others...what does that piece do and is it a show stopper?  Thanks!

Wow, quite a few nice finds so far into 2006. (did I just hear that cash register jingle)? Nice Jacobs!   Hope this good fortune touches everyone here at least once.
Once the handle is off, the coin box must lifted an inch to be removed

Thanks for the help but still having problems...I cannot seem to get the handle off.  I unscrewed the allen wrench screw from the side of the handle, and unscrewed the spanner screw and took out the spring from the front of the handle.  It still doesn't come off...is the another screw or pin that I am not seeing or it it possible that some rust has formed aand that is why it won't slide off?  Thanks!  There is always one rust bolt or something that stops one from getting to see the entire machine!

I would spray it down with WD40 or PB blaster and then try it again. If not a light wack with a rubber mallet might help free it up.
