Well a few months ago I sold My Rc Cola V56 to Joey (Coke_and_Stuff) so he could use its parts for a roundtop V56 that he had. Once it was parted out I asked him what he was going to do with the empty cabnet and he said I could have it back if I wanted it. Well last week I went and got it. The machine had some rust around the louvers and Joey had a better cabnet from another V56 so he swaped them for me and even included a free working cooling system for the machine. Well I needed the insides for it and I decided I was going to restore it as an electric vend machine since the parts are easier and cheeper to find. Well a newer member here Roger (Rogerz) bought a rusty V56 cheep on ebay and decided to give me the rack and shelves!!!! Yes you heard that right he gave them to me! I also found a V83 coin door on ebay so that is now on it but the coin bezel is broken and John (JohnieG) Gave me a coin bezel from the ice cream machine parts he had. So I just wanted to post some pics of this machine and say thanks to everyone who has helped me with this project so far. All I need now is a bottle door and Joey also gave me two square top bottle doors so I am going to see if I can cut them down and make them work. I am going to paint the machine yellow and do it in a 50's round top Rc Cola theme. This site is truly an amazing place! Thanks again.

glad you got it back, and thanks again for bringing me and actually scoring me a fairly nice 110 project. It wont take to much to get it alive again and help with my "expensive" machine habit.

Great how so many people (Most who haven't even met in person) can work so well with each other... I've been lucky enough to Meet Brent (Dr Galaga) in Chicago and got some great bottles for my collection... G.B. and Joey in Springfield, MO droppped of some picnic cooler and just talk about collections and Moondawg (Glen) gave me a deal on parts for my Coke Dispenser. Great Networking... Great people...

I wish it was still a mechanical machine but oh well. The coin mechs are just too expensive. I think it will look sharp in yellow.

Well I started tearing the 56 apart a few days ago. I put a hold on the C55 project to do this one first. I know you all are going to be dissappointed but I have decided to restore this machine and sell it. I want to make the money to restore the VMC88 I just bought from Joey. I am also going to do this 56 in Coke. I know another boreing Coke machine but after the response I got on ebay with the C64 I am hoping that will happen again with this machine. One realy cool thing I noticed when tearing this machine apart. The braces inside the machine are all to a round top 56. Check it out. I have also never seen a more rust free cabnet.

Here are a few more pics. Check out the round top brace inside the front door. They must have had a bunch of left overs. I wonder if they came from vendo since Vendorlator never made a round top 56.

Josh, you had better strike while the iron is still hot. The way that one took off on ebay. You had better jump. Pat

Hey Josh, the j box is new and the wiring looks clean. The machine is safe to operate. Buyer will be happy. The new wiring harnesses seem to cost quite a bit. $35.00 The square junction box on most machines can be drilled open and new wires can be soldered in place. Or using a simple little terminal strip from Radio Shack can be very easy and inexpensive.

I agree Glen - $35 is a lot. I wish there was a more economical place to buy them. I have kind of searched around locally, but with no luck yet.

Bryan, Thank you so much for posting that here a while back. That has saved me so much time. Getting this liner in would have been impossible without that. If I can just get the coin door to fit this is going to be a great machine.

Ok I would be glad to explain. It will save you tons of time on a full restoration. When you remove an inside tank liner and replace the insulation it is really hard to get the liner back in without pushing the insulation back into the machine. Well Bryan came up with the great idea to lay down cardboard on top of the insulation and then put the liner in. Then once the liner is in just pull the cardboard out and the insulation stays where it is supposed to. It really is great. Below is some pics to show how it is done.
