I pretty much took it all apart and "lightly" blasted the parts. Used Rust-Oleum Stainless Steel for the lower metal and gave others a light coat of Krylon Short Cuts "Gold Leaf". Also had to touch up some of the silver with Rust-Oleum Alum. Just had to be careful and not paint coin paths etc.. Think the Gold Leaf is remarkable to the original metal color. Alittle oil and a few stickers from Steve E. Ready to go.... doug

Very nice! Yes, avoid the coin-path! I like the looks of the "gold-leaf" paint! I'll have to pick some up!

Spoon-feeding Newbies since 2001... Yeah..220,221 whatever it takes. Remember, all it needs is a shot of Freon! The Vendo V-83 is the '59 Edsel of the coke machine world. ;p Spray painting does NOT restore a compressor 11 is louder than 10... "Hope" is good, but it's not an action plan.

WOW!! That looks awesome! Yeah, that gold leaf paint really does the trick. Let us know how it holds up.
I know plating is the "historically correct" way to restore a mech but if that apint holds up that a great looking way to do it.
