It's been thoroughly cleaned and everything on the coin mech moves fine but can't figure out how the coins get routed to the mech.
The coins enter the mech at the top green circle and needs to exit at the bottom green circle. As best I can tell it needs to follow the green path. Of course it seems to follow the red and exit the red circle.
I'm wondering if I'm missing some parts? Anybody have ideas or better yet pics and understanding of one that works?
On another note... the lever I'm holding at the top of the pic seems to work a coin release mechanism, except that there is no mechanism exposed on the machine to work the lever??

I think the red path is the rejected coin path. Are you trying both dimes and nickles?

Josh - The mech only accepts dimes and you are correct that the red path is rejected coind path... it leads to the coin return. My problem is that all dimes follow that path. I can't figure out why no dime ends up in the lower green circle?

Bryan,
I have a working mechanical mech from a Glasco slider, not sure if it's much different than the Ideal mechanism, hopefully these photo's will help identify your problem.
Thanks
David

David / AB - Thanks for the pics and pointers.
I think I figured it out... The flapper-thing (technical term
'>) where the dimes entered the mech had a spring which was pinned underneath. I moved it on top of the flapper so that it is keeping the dimes flush to the mech's body. That keeps them from free-falling into the wider reject catcher which is immediately below. Now all the dimes make it into the lock cam. I still have no idea how the coin return / reject mech works without an external plunger or button... but that problem can wait for a bit.
