Hi All,
There is a great article on the front page of The Wall Street Journal today about how the U.S. bottlers of Coca Cola are trying to stop the importation / "bootlegging" of Mexican glass bottled Coke into the U.S.
U.S. bottlers are trying to figure out how the "Hecho en Mexico" stuff gets in and who is supplying it. The retail guys are not talking and have a "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy...LOL.
I just want my Coca Cola in bottles at a reasonable price. It's easier for me to find Mexican Coke than it is the dinky 8 oz ones.made here...plus, there is no replacement for a Mexican Coke washing down a burrito with extra hot sauce on a sunny day...Jeez..when is lunch?

I say they should come out with Coca Cola in 12 and 16 oz bottles and let the consumer pay a premium for it. Also put sucrose or cane sugar on the ingrediant list, not HFCS. I would pay extra for it.

I realize this is a bit off topic, but I want to know why those tiny 8 oz glass bottles of Coke that are made here in the US sell for over $3 for just one pack of 6. That's outrageous, more that twice regular retail for cans.
I stock my Cav bottle machine with cans because those glass bottles are IMO WAY too expensive.

Ouch. '>
I wouldn't pay that. I only got one pack at local price to test the machine out with.
Even at regular price, a 12-pack case of 12 oz Coke cans is usually around $3 - $3.50. I doubt they sell the glass bottles very often, but when they do they're making a killing.
I wonder how much a case of glass bottle Cokes costs in Mexico.

Or $4.99, but I've said before that I can get it through a friend's husband who drives for Coke for $7/case of 24. Well, he recently took a new job, but still has friends that can get it. Sam's ran around $10 a case, so that shows you the kind of mark-up the supermarkets are getting.

Spoon-feeding Newbies since 2001... Yeah..220,221 whatever it takes. Remember, all it needs is a shot of Freon! The Vendo V-83 is the '59 Edsel of the coke machine world. ;p Spray painting does NOT restore a compressor 11 is louder than 10... "Hope" is good, but it's not an action plan.

I'd just be happy to get hold of them.... $3.000, $5.00 even $10.00. I have to fill my own bottle up from the 2ltr Plastic Bottles.
