Hello,

I'm looking for parts for my Choice Vend CVC-224.

I'm likely to need vend motors #2 and #5. I found (while I was
looking for something else) a post where Grainger was suggested for the motors, but I'm not sure what to ask for in the way of new
replacements.

Also, I need a neon "empty" indicator light. It has Jemco Industries on it, and the number 6.

I will probably need more, but those are the twp I'm concerned about at the moment. I contacted Phoenix Vending Co. for parts, as suggested on another forum, but they said they didn't carry Choice Vend parts. '<img'>

any help would be appreciated.

Try   http://www.veii.com/     & search on "Choice vend"

if by motors you mean the vending motors that drive the augers, then you won't be finding then at grainger I'm sorry to say...the above link is your best bet, or Ebay under vending equipment/parts   http://stores.ebay.com/Vending....2QQtZkm

so hop on the computer & start a "click'n"  ':<img:'>

Hi, Johnnie. Thanks for responding.

Is it possible the motors I have could still be good? I should have asked that question first, but I wasn't sure whether there was anything else that could be done for them. Will you help me try to troubleshoot them? I'll go ahead and explain the problem anyway, if that's ok.

First off the machine is quite grimy. According to the person from whom I aqcuired it, it set for at least 2 years.

After getting it home, I found 10 years worth of dirt in it. I haven't cleaned much on it in part because when I tried, some of it just won't come off (I used liquid laundry detergent). Actually, I only cleaned on the inside of the outer door-I was pretty frustrated by not getting a better clean and just left it.

The vend motors are well hidden, I haven't even been able to find them yet. I just know there somewhere behind the augers.

I haven't managed to get the loading switches to work, so I've had to go with coin mech to work the motors. When I finally got the coin mech functioning, I discovered vend motors #1,#3, and #4 all turned their augers, albeit slowly and with some squeaking out of one or two. #2 turned the augers a little, stopped, and on subsequent attempt tripped the (#2) breaker in the selector relay. #5 simply doesn't act like it's turning. First attempt on #5 nothing apparently happen, second attempt tripped selector relay (#5) breaker.

Any hope for the motors? What should I do for the ones that are turning?

Thanks in advance.

To access the vending motors, which are under the slanted bottom shelf beneath the augers, you must disassemble the rack & pull out the vending motor/auger assembly, the picture of my old CVV224 will show you where the attachment screws are located. be aware that the rack assembly can weigh up to ~80 lbs! & you won't want it dropping onto your foot! You might want to  get a buddy to assist you.

First remove the upper rack by removing the upper & lower rack-screws, then tip the top of the rack towards you while lifting up & pull it out of the machine pay attention to the rear spacers, they tend to stick out below the bottom of the actual rack & can get hung up on the auger supports, you don't want to bust an auger!

Next, if equipt, pull out the support rack then slide the auger assy forward onto it so you can get at the electrical connectors, it to is HEAVY, be carefull! now you can put it on the work bench & flip it upside down to inspect the motors & gears.

The augers are labeled for which position they belong in, (in referance to the front of the machine as you'd be facing it with the door open to load it up) Front=Frt, middle-rear=M-R, middle-front= M-Frt, and Rear=R, dont get them mixed up!

Then gears are also postion sensitive, the main index gear has two or four index "bumps" that activate the index switch,&depending on how you align then, they will set up the augers to vend single, double, or double wide 12 oz. can vending, or long-neck or short-neck glass bottles. there is (or should br ) an indexing setup guide on the inside of your loading door showing which gear goes where.

as for the motors, once they are out in the open, wipe off any old dried up white grease frow the gears & the motors drive worm-gear, & relube them with white lithium grease, inspect then for missing and worn teeth. cracks. etc.

Be careful once everything is removed from the inside of the soda machine, because that heavy door being open, can pull the machine over on you. Almost did me. I removed the auger assembly from I believe was a cvc224 and should have the motors your looking for. That machine was a behemoth. I can check later this week and see if they still work. I was holding onto them for spare parts for myself but could sale a couple motors I guess.

Thanks for the info.

The only thing about the CVC224 - it's so heavy it'll take more than me to work on it. I can't take the vend base out- back trouble. However I think I may be where I get some help lined up soon.

The machine has another problem though - it won't cool. The compressor runs, but its not cooling the air much. Maybe just a little. It's been like that since I got it. Sounds like a freon leak/low freon, but I'm not sure.
