Steve and Sharon ( Soda Jerk Works) came back yesterday and I learned a lot.
One thing in particular. 8 oz Coke bottles got smaller and are falling right through some machines like the Vendo 44 / 88 etc.
Look at the 3 bottles. Original 6.5 oz,  then the old 8 oz and the new 8 oz. Diameter has been reduced. I measured the circumfrence of all three, first in the middle then around the base.
    Old style : 7 1/2..........7 5/8
    Old  8 oz. : 7 1/8.........7 1/4
    New 8 oz. : 6 3/4.........7
They are working on adapter kit to compensate.

Back last winter/early spring there was a thread on here about the new bottles being smaller.  Someone on here was talking with someone at Coca Cola about it.  I do not recall seeing anymore discussion about since last winter/spring though.

Took me some searching.  Here's the old topic: http://soda-machines.com/cgi-loc....bottles
In my area the new bottles didn't show up until July.
Looks like some people might be refilling their old bottles!

How does one go about getting old bottles filled? I am sitting on hundreds of empty 10 and 16 oz. Coke bottles.

Can I buy some of your 10 oz. Coke bottles?!?!?
Are they embossed or painted on labels?
Where are you located?

Oh and welcome to the forums. '<img'>

Oh my, check that out.  It took Markito only 8 minutes from when his 10 oz. Coke bottle posting alarm went off to when he replyed!

Let me check when it is light out, and I will let you know how many I have and can let go of. If I can find a way to get them filled, I will be a happy camper, stocking my machine with cold Cokes!

I also have Pepsi, RC (some paper labels) and many other bottles just sitting in two garages. My Grandfather was a pack rat. A pack rat that loved sodas.

I know a guy who recently ran into this problem with small bottles and a V44. He solved his problem by inserting 1/4" plexiglass liners to his bottle stack. '<img'>

I was talking with Steve Ebner last week about side spacers for my Cavalier 55D and he mentioned the change in bottle size. How annoying. '<img'>  When I got home I did the same side by side check that Glen did and low and behold.......Steve mentioned that all of us Soda Pop machine freaks, er, enthusiasts should contact Coca Cola and mention that they are putting us in a bad way.

The way I figure it is that unless you are just collecting the Coca Cola glass bottles solely for NASCAR or Holiday themes, you are probably using them in old Soda Pop machines. So, it would behove Coke to quit goofing around!

I can understand if the embossing was getting to expensive but c'mon! Sooner or later the bottles are going to get so thin that they'll break when they are vended!

When I talked to Coke they told me there has been no size change(local bottler)  I've emailed corporate a couple times and the only reply I got was to contact my local bottler.  One guy at the bottler(off the record) told me the size change happened because the supplier of the embossed countour bottles the Detroit bottler used stopped making them and the had to switch to a new vendor out of Mexico.

What surprises me is that Coca Cola is so protective of their patent on that hobbleskirt bottle.  Why would they allow deviation from their original design?

Preliminary count is about 100 10 oz. bottles. Some have the "rub ring" around them, but most are in great shape. They are the painted type. I did see a few embossed, though. I have to unstack the cases to find out how many other sodas are mixed in with the Coke bottles. In total, there are about 12 cases of bottles, but some are 16 oz. and many are other flavors. I'll post again when I get an accurate count.

I am in the Gainesville, FL area. I am not in charge of the estate, but it should be no problem getting the okay to sell any bottles. We have been looking for a good reason to dispose of them, and if you want some, that is cool.

Yeah I'd be interested in embossed 12 oz. if they are in good shape ( no recycled rolls)
I have a nice NOS yellow crate for 12 oz. And I need about 14-16 bottles.
Thanks guys send me a PM and let me know.....

Thanks for looking into it.
I hope they don't cost an arm and a leg, because then I'm out, but hopefully we can arrange something. I am not buying them for future sales or for hidden value or anything, everyone here knows that I just collect them for myself to look nice in my home.

I'm kinda' the resident 10 oz. Coke bottle buyer in the forum and since I brought up the idea of buying your bottles first, I hope that I can have first dibs.

But again, I am only interested in "10 oz." bottles. So Eric or anyone else, please feel free to pursue the 12 oz. or 16 oz. any other sizes.

Thanks PanamaG.
