Hello Everyone.

My 5c Shipman Gum vendor arrived the other day. Managed to get the lock off it. (No Key) and the vending Mech seems to work well. A little sticky but all there.

The machine was used to vend Wrigleys Gum and also LifeSaver tubes. I went to the shop today to get hold of some lifesavers but the tubes are a lot bigger than what the space in the vendor can accomadate. Have lifesavers nearly doubled in size since my machine first began life or do they also sell them in smaller packets.Huh?

Wrigleys five stick packs work just right. I'll have to take a load home with me because our packs in the UK are seven sticks and a fair bit bigger.

Cheers

Make sure you take some pics for us when you get home.
They do make smaller packs of Life Savers, but they are special advertising ones that companies buy a ton of and have their names put on it for trade shows.  They used to also sell these smaller packs in bags at stores, but I think they stopped producing those when they started to make the "singles" packages.  You might check out the Halloween candy selections - I'll also take a look when I go to the store.
About how many Life Savers does it look like should go in a pack for your machine?

Are the size of the rolls in this picture what you are looking for?  This is the size I was thinking about above:

Yep

I think they might be the ones. I did try a substitute earlier but managed to jam the machine because it was just that tadge too large. Had fun getting it out.

Dave

Ps... Piccie to follow. I have a digital camera here but the PC I'm using doesn't have any software to reduce the size of the picture to post.

You're on vacation and you can't put the coin-op things down the whole time! '<img'>
Found this place on-line that has the mini rolls, but you have to buy a 10 pound box! '<img'>
As I said before, I'll check out the Halloween candy when I'm out shopping.

Thanks for the site. However, she who has to be obeyed has finally put her foot down. That extra 10lb has sent her over the edge especially as I have just bid and won a 1950's payphone which will hopefully be deleivered here in the next few days and needs to be packed and carried home.

I have stored the site away for a raid when I get home and I'm out sight of the evil eye.

Dave, congrats on finding some very cool stuff over on this side of the pond.
That payphone will look very cool in your game(s)room.
Just think of the reaction the "trouble and strife" would have given you if the phone had a booth attached to it! ':p' '<img'> '<img'>
Continue to have fun and please keep adding to your unofficial Yankee blog.

I just came across it just before posting it.  I ran an ebay search on something like "mini life savers" and this machine came up.

It's kind of different, eh?
Oh my, I think I'm turning Canadian, eh?
