I got this machine from a friend for my shop. How do I load the cans. The heliix's seem to jam and then crush the cans.
So I assume I'm loading it wrong.
What kind of machine is this?
The plate on the side says Valu Vend VVC 252-5-12C.
It looks like it was built in late 70's..
Thanks for your help.

Value Vend is a Choice Vend clone, they used the same vending gear/helix assemblies, there was a thread in another discussion area on loading cans into a Choice Vend machine, use the "search" button & search on Choice Vend, remember this, these machines may be set up to vend Either Cans,  and/or Glass-bottles, IF yours is set up to vend bottles, (in that pareticular column) then it WILL chrush all loaded into that column. Yours is an early vendor, note the metal-die cast augers, later models(both ChoiceVend & ValueVend went to the Noryl/plastic gears & augers...

I had spacers in the bottom of my choice vend
that was still packaged never used in my machine.

Placed a post on the board and finally figured out where they went.

Mine has a place on the side of the columns for the spacers to slip into. Check the side of your columns and see if the spacers are there and will slide back to unlock and lift out.

Looks almost identical to a machine that I have on the insides..
Does your machine look like it could stack two cans deep by adjusting the vertical bars in the back of each slot?

You guys all rock. I came to look for help and I sure did get it.

JohnieG   Thanks for the diagrams, The Valu Vend loads a little differently but it helped me figure this one out.

Jasmine64   Yes mine has the spacers already installed and I was wondering what they were for. What are they for?   '<img'>

Yarochrehc    Yes this machine loads 2 deep. And the more popular brands load 2 wide also.

Moondawg    I don't know about the purple paint. looks like the machine was a grape machine and they changed it into a Coke machine.

I've got other machines so I'll be asking more stupid questions! '<img'>
