It's all galvanized so rust shouldn't be an issue. I use simply green cleaner or clr if the build up is really, really bad. Usually The simply green and green scrubby pad from 3M is fine.

What is the best way to clean the shelves and other parts? iwould like to keep them looking original.
Welcome aboard.... would recommend you search the site on "cleaning" or even just peruse the various boards. There are gems buried everywhere not just on cleaning but on all aspects of restoration.

Value's a tough one. The price on the square machines is going up all the time but really is all over the place depending on where you live. Another issue is the size, while I personally like the bigger machines most people like the smaller ones like the 56 and 63. I would say a complete good condition machine like that is worth around 300-500 in my neck of the woods(Michigan).

Jordan - I'd have to agree with GBR on the value. You might get a little extra because of the syle star sign.

If you have to paint use Hammertone Silver..... tough stuff!
Check out topic under refinishing... Krylon Vs Hammertone....
I may have to paint my machine inside too and I'm sold on the Hammertone.
I've used this paint in restoring some candy machines.... very durable.
