I'm bummed, it's supposed to be in the 90's around these parts this weekend and the solenoid in my vendo 154 took a dump. Was wondering if anybody had one laying around b-4 I order one. It's the vending solenoid that goes under the bottle stack on the square-corner slant shelf Vendo's. While I'm posting I'm looking for a couple of the metal s shaped pieces that screw onto the bottle gates and make the captive links of the bottle stack move for a project machine. THanks for looking.

Yep. that be it. A machine I picked up awhile back had 5 of them missing. Don't know why, everything worked great when Ratted some off another machine. Thanks for the Picture Johnie.

Brian,
I've got a Vendo 63 that I'm parting out. Is the vending solenoid in the square metal box under the bottle stack?
I'll look and post back tonight.

No fun in that... no button to push, no sanp of the solenoid, ... and it seems like a lot more work then wiring a freeplay button? |

The Solenoid is in side the little metal box. Take the 3 screws off the metal box comes off. The solenoid is cotter pinned and screwed to a metal plate with a spring and a arm on it. The plate comes off with three screws. I know I'm greedy but I would love the whole plate if possible. Thakns in advance.

Bryan, Removing the gate levers is just as easy as a free play switch. Usually you have to take the bottle stack out anyways to clean and lube it. I used to have a machine set up this way that I would just use at parties. The youngsters had a much easier time with the concept of opening a door and pulling a bottle then having to deposit cash first then open door and pull.

I know I go against the grain around here but I just can't handle beer in the soda machine. Then again I am not a big beer consumer either. I keep the beer in a under-counter wine cooler I had installed in the kitchen when the house was built.

I actualy very rarely drink beer either. I'm a fitness buff and am healthier if I don't drink it. Plus I love all my different sodas too much. But I do stock beer in some of the selections in my machine because I love to have guests over and it's fun to have several chilled glass bottled beer choices for them. In my Cav 64, I have 3-4 soda choices and 4 beer choices. But I always worry that I won't have enough turnaround on the beer before it goes bad.

I sold a Cavalier 96 to a guy who filled each shelf with the favorite brand of beer of each of his buddies that he works with. When these guys get together at his house, that machine is impressive.
So impressive that one of them came here and bought himself a machine for the same reason. Buddies from work each get their favorite beer when they visit.
Now there's nothing unusual about this story yet, until you find out were they work.
They are our City Police department  '>

Well - to be different and to keep the conversation going. I'm into the machines because I like beer and always thought the machines were more interesting than a beer fridge. Used to be a home brewer until the micrbrew industry grew up and I became too lazy. These machines make a unique way to make your brew available - especially if you're like me and like variety.
Still - I do keep soda in a couple of the lower racks for the kids. And they certainly like getting a pop from the machine more than from the fridge.
Kito - Wouldn't a microbrew bottle of beer be better for you than bottle of soda?

Soda is bad for you. The High Fructose Corn Syurp that todays pops are sweetened with is nasty stuff. Thats why I make the effort to track down the cane sugar sodas to stock the machine with. Even so I try to limit myself to no more than 3 or 4 bottles a week. I more sure that It would be healthier to consume beer but I just like the pop better.
