I'd like to meet some members '<img'>  .  I did meet Vendo63 a few times.  He lives close enough that he can pillage my 63 parts machine for his restoration.  Very nice guy.

We need a national SMC convention!  '<img'>

I just visited with Dan Hale (halehouse) while on vacation in DC a couple of weeks back...
It's always nice to place a face to a name...

My six cents,

The exact same offer from me in Minneapolis/ Saint Paul, Minnesota. I'm just 10-15 minutes from the airport, so even if you are just stuck in the Twin Cities airport for a layover or transfer...

Used to travel to San Jose almost every week back in the late 90's.  Now it's been about six months since I've been in San Jose but I don't ever remember orange groves....  They've been working on the road into / out of the airport for close to 2 years now...

I'll try to carve time out next time I'm there...

AZ chapter will also welcome visitors.

Orange groves long gone. Adding a terminal, freeway access... its a mess. All the agriculture has been covered with parking lots for the empty office buildings and apartments. Very sad.
Give a holler if passing through.

That's so sad agriculture was such a big part of Calif heritage and history.

Give me my wide open soybean, rice and wheat fields any day.
Minus the mosquitos, that is.

It is sad. Do the geocaching thing and those are sometimes in out of the way parks dedicated to the heritage of the area. Nothing looks the same anymore.
Guess that is just the way it goes these days.

Enjoyed my time in KS. Crickets, fireflies and a good lighting/thunder storm show almost every night.

I watched fireflies a few nights ago while I had my telescope out.
The first ones we have had in a long time.

One landed on my daughter and she ran screaming in the house. '<img'>

Thats funny!! Do some scoping here as well. Have to head to the middle of nowhere to get away from the light pollution.
