Hello eveyone,
For those of you that have been eagerly awaiting some form of a SMC T-Shirt, well, your wait is over!
At this time, I have the shirts available in large and extra-large but only in one color, Ash, as you can see from the photo...
I've checked the shopping cart system and hope everything works for guys and gals; it seemed to function for my testing but you never know until patrons find a way to break it...
Unfortunately, you'll have to register before ordering a shirt; I guess if SMC had better management, you would only have to register in one place and all the features of SMC would be integrated... Some day...
I'm open for any feedback too; so please correspond, especially if you have problems in the New Vending Shop!
Thanks

Jim, registered without crashing anything... good job so far. Before I order I would like to know if more colors will be coming soon or if Ash is it.

Jim, Tried my best to break it, check your logs. Recieved sold out for the machine book, was able to shopping cart a shirt and the cooler book. Never could figure out how to really pay for anything. A cryptic message about credits or code only available??? ABC123 didn't work.
Only other whine is the page does not scale to fit the screen. Great start and Thanks Much!! Creighton

Jim, Nice work! Will you be carrying Jeff Walters' books too?
I LOVE this image you made for the top of the store site! (The "Vending Shop" machine) It looks so cool!

Thanks for the input!
Bryan, Until I can devote additional funds for another couple of dozen shirts, I'm only selling the Ash color...
Creighton, Page doesn't scale if you resize because I have hard coded page widths to help control page layouts. As far as paying, just utilize the checkout & continue buttons at the bottom of the page(s). You'll see options for paying via PayPal or Check/Money Order, then you'll be presented with shipping options... I'm not sure what you may be referring about with cryptic message unless you are looking at a textbox for entering a coupon code/referral code... The system allows admin to send out coupons as gifts that can be redeemed to purchase merchandise...
Markito, I will be selling Jeff's book as well... I think the 60's soda machines graphic looks pretty cool to if I say so myself...

Glen,
After you add an item(s) to your cart, you can then procedd to the checkout by clicking the checkout button. This will place you at step 1, Delivery Confirmation; just choice a shipping method, enter any special instructions/comments in the textarea box and click continue... Step 2 is the Payment Information Page. You can choose either payments via Check/Money Order or PayPal. You may also notice a text box(s) to enter a coupon code/redemption code; I haven't sent any coupons/gift certificates yet so this can be left alone. At the bottom, there is another textbox to enter special instructions/comments if you haven't already... Step 3 is the Order Confirmation Page. Review the order information you have entered for accuracy and then complete your oder by clicking the confirm button at the bottom of the page. You will then receive an email confirmation regarding the order details. Additionally, when an item is added to your cart, the system remembers what item you have added to your cart in the event you wish to come back later to complete the purchase...
Hopefully helpful...

Another thought -- for us whom are more, shall we say, dimensionally challenged, might you consider larger sizes - 2X, 3X - in the future? Good luck with the sales efforts, great to see you add books and such. One question -- has anyone ever come up with a book similar to Walter's soda machine guide for newer (60 - 70's) machines? Be nice for those of us who like the newer square tops and such from that era, if there is something -

Jim - I have the same problem as Glen. When I get to step 2 I'm not offered any payment options. The message "This is currently the only payment method available to use on this order." is shown but no options at all. I have a screen capture I could send you if you want... just send me your email address.
PS - the cart memory part worked great for me... just can't figure out how to pay you.

OK, OK... I never said I was the sharpest tool in the shed!
This shopping system has SOOOO many variables that can be modified, set and interact with each other that I accidentally set something up wrong, but it functioned for me because I live in FL and nobody else does...
Now everything should work properly... '>

Mike,
My apologies for leaving you out in cold on this!
I only had so much money to put into this project right now and it seemed the concensus was the two sizes I utilized... I hear everyone and will do my best to accomodate the other sizes & colors...
Regarding a 60's - 70's Soda Machine Book... Well, this hasn't been done yet and to the best of my knowledge, I don't know of anyone gearing up for this project. Steve @ Fun-Tronics has complied a 60's section of machines in his recent publishing but only those manufactured for Coca-Cola. It is a good resource for several manufacturers though...

Jim, Ok, I had better luck this time. Thanks for the fixes!! Understand about too many "features" Couldn't sort a way to save or print the address to send MO/Check/Cash to so was writting it down and then the swine phone rings and I timed out (great feature) on page 2. Bit busy tonight so didn't log back in to see if shopping cart is still in a holding pattern. I have the address and the total so payment is on the way. Let me know if the order doesn't show in this instance. Thanks for all you do!!! Creighton

None of the three links on the home page work for you to access the SMC Vending Shop...?
I'm at work on a different computer and all three redirected me properly... Try refreshing the home page and then attempt to use one of the links...

Out of the seven red buttons available to me on the home page, 6 of them work properly. Smc Vending shop does not. Same with the link on the signpole. Smc is not even hilighted as a hyperlink like the rest. Maybe I'm the only one with this problem? '>

Not to sound redundant, but have you refreshed the browser while on the home page...?
Has anyone else had this occur on the home page...?

Shouldn't that be the "phnnn"?
Funny you should mention the Pink Panther series... Just yesterday I bought a wonderful working 1981 Gotlieb "Pink Panther' pinball machine from a local guy for a mere $50 !!!!!!!!! It even plays Mancini's Pink Panther theme at times while you play the game.
The guy was moving and said that it used to work but didn't anymore. Once I got it home, I just replaced the burnt out fuses and viola! Good as new! I am sooooo happy!
Talk about me taking this thread WAY off topic! '>

The theme deals with the theft of the "Pink Panther" diamond (which i believe was the storyline of the first film) and it has the fun cartoon panther character, but unfortunately it doesn't have any images of our favorite inspector on it:
