Here is one I can't seem to figure out....

I picked up a Cavalier C-55D recently and have been sprucing it up a bit. Finally plugged it in and it vends properly (with coins) and lights work. Hurrah! However, I don't ever hear the compressor kick on. I thought I would check the thermostat to see if it was turned off but I can't find it. Where is it hidden? I'm baffled.

Thanks in advance,

Jim

Can you locate any electric wires headed toward the evaporator...?  One would be for the fan, the other would be a thermostat. There will be other wire(s) for the vending mech as well.

My six cents,

I guess I just can't find it or it isn't there. I have a decent view of the evaporator and can't trace anything to a thermostat. Hopefully someone who has this model will let me know where theirs is mounted.

Thanks.

some machines ( like Westinghouse's) had the thermostats control & dial mounted remotely down by the compressor area & only the sensing unit ( sometimes called the"bulb") in the evaporator area or clamped directly to the evaporator or located ina thermostat "well" ( a hollow length of copper tube) to protect the sensing end of the capillary.

I have the two-selection C55 and you have to remove the left back spacer to access it at the bottom. Not sure if the single selection is different, but doubt it.
