has anyone used LED lighting for the vending door entryway?  pictures possibly

You mean the chute door or the cold bay?

I have a 90-series DN so no real reason to do that since it's exposed. You could use some 3M emblem tape and stick a short LED bar on the frame top. You can wire it up to be on all the time or use a 12V timed relay to turn on from the vend circuit and then off after the timer expires. You'll likely need an AC-DC converted for the power and the vend relay trigger.
