Are they round or pie shaped dispensers? If pie, probably dispensed peanuts and the salt had a tendency to freeze things up. As I understand it, the center rod locks it in. Should be able to take apart and clean up and get working again.

You are correct
It is pie shaped and I can still see some nasty old peanuts in one of them
I opened the coin mech and that allows access to the rod.
Thank God for WD40

Will try to remove the rod and any other tips certainly appreciated

Great score! A picked up almost new hot nut machine cheap and had a similar problem withe the salt corrosion. After cleaning it up I switched to salt-free nuts.

Success
A couple of hours of work and a few bloody knuckles and job is complete
Not so easy to take apart
Had to take out the bolt under the center rod and used drill to remove the center rod after that

The front glass just does not pull up
By accident I broke the front glass and found out that the left frame and then bottom frame slide off so glass can be removed
2nd time worked much better with no breakage

Then the wheel and hopper can slide forward
I soaked in dawn/water solution and seemed to help free things up

Cant wait to next weekend to do the third

Hope the knuckles heal

Lots of sanding and now works great
