Got this at an estate sale today! I was thinking on getting a paintless dent removal to fix that dent by the lettering. There are other dents to retain the character, but that one bothers me. It think it is funny thing to have!!

Didn't know I wanted one until I saw it in the "Estate Sale" email we get and I thought that is cool! What a fun piece to hang in the game room! Got nervous because I got to the house just before they opened the door. I was about 40th in line and then they said only 25 people at a time. I didn't get in until 30 minutes or so later. I never saw it come out and claimed it as soon as I got in, then looked around some more. Got a few old 1st edition Lone Ranger series books for $2 each- #4 & #7 https://www.goodreads.com/series/53999-the-lone-rangerEric, These are the only markings on it - October 1943 maybe??

Yes, that's from October 1943. That's a great item!
Have you seen the movie Joe Dirt? Be careful it may actually be the septic tank from an old motor home, LOL

Tom that's awesome. Drop it from the top of the house and see if you can get the Doppler effect. Freak out the neighbors a little. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8PbD3I9eumM

Nice find, I have just the perfect place for one:)
Eric it good to hear your son is a collector of WW2. There are to few young new collectors now days in that. First its almost cost prohibitive to start. Two, it's getting harder to find it out undiscovered. Three, the out right fakes are everywhere and the ones from the late sixties and early seventies are getting patina that can fool new collectors. And when it comes to German Lugers they are a collecting field all their own. And why buying $100 reference books pay for themselves. I know a few good forums he can join that are full of information on the subject just let me know.

Nice one! If you have seen the video's of bombs falling out of racks on B-17's same as this practice one. Impact detonation mainly. HowDueYouDue, yours looks like a later sonor that would have been dropped by the the PBY,s.
Fun but spendy side pieces are the wood training field gun shells. Agree prices are high and fakes common.
Eric, I owe you some things for your son. PM addy. Thanks! Creighton
