Looking to customize my generic VMC 110 with embossed Orange Crush signage. I've Photo Shopped what I'm going for. Everything is ready to go to the painter. Was considering vinyl, but obviously would prefer actual embossed metal. Can anyone help locate one? hopefull I've included a Photo Shopped version of what I would like it to look like.

What are you looking to locate? OC embossing from another machine/cooler? That might be tough if so because it would have to be the perfect size to fill that blank space properly and centered. If you use vinyl you can build it up with layers then clear over it so if you run your hand over it you would feel it and would be easier in the sense you can make it any size you want and also any font/style.

There's some pretty good videos on embossing metal on YouTube using a small press you can get from harbor freight. Basically about cutting it out, then using a sacrificial backing to allow the embossing to be created when it's in the press. Creating it may be easier then finding one, if you buy an ideal 55 just to cut it up, you could be close to a grand there for just the box and shipping.

As this would be a fantasy piece I would recommend you have high quality decals created.     After clear coating they look amazing.   Because it's a fantasy piece no one will care that it's not embossed.

What is the measurement of the area... I have 2 rough Quikold panels that are embossed with Orange Crush I've kept
thinking I would splice them into a generic Quikold someday... But I could use the money to help finish my other
Quikold projects... let me know.

Eric- I measured my Coke 110 and the actual embossing is 8" X 17"

I have another Generic complete shell and bottle door for sale, identical to the one in the first picture above.

Will sell whole or just main front for $300.00, in case someone else wants to use another one of Eric's panels.

These may be too big.. even for the 110... the embossed areas are solid just the bottoms and the sides are rusted/gone.

Yea, the width would work, but height would be too much. I appreciate your checking!  smile

Might work if you just used the orange crush and didn't include the "drink"

That would make a cool generic 55 project!

I saw a local restorer in my area that is in the process of converting a 110 Coke in to a Pepsi.  He took some vintage logo and took it to some metal shop and they made an embossed piece of metal out of it that would fit the 110.  I saw it after this was done and he had the lower part of the machine painted blue and the upper portion white.  The embossed part looked perfect.  The letters had not been hand painted yet, but it will be done in red.  Should have taken a picture of it.  He told me he has a client that asked him to do it.

Ive often thought about getting a design done for any logo you want, I personally like the old school dr. pepper.

take the design to a sheet metal place or anywhere that can laser or water jet metal and have them cut the design out in 1/4 thick metal,

weld that to the macine, and then use filler and or welds and high build primer to "round it out" a bit and walla... raised letter,.. sure not embossed but for a fantasy piece? who cares??

just a thought

I have thought of this for a while, after my first attempt of Layering Vinyl to get the same effect...

I didn't really like the look of the layered vinyl as you still see the edges of each layer and being it's vinyl it was somewhat "Squishy"

so thought of this route and am working on it now.

we'll see
